Eve's POV:
"I wanna try out for the music program," I say to Luke as he closes his locker.
Spending time with the boys has really brought out my confident side. I've begun cracking jokes, saying sarcastic comment, and making fun of the band.
"I'm sure you'll do great," he says as we start walking to class. I tell him thanks and he kisses my cheek before we depart.
The next day:
I'm standing in front of the whole music program, which is a good 20 people.
"Take your time," the teacher says.
I take a deep breath and start to sing.
Standing in the shadows
I thought that I earned it
Feeling invisible
Believing I deserved itI can't remember what I was waiting for
So no moreI'm climbing over walls that I've made
I'm finding my place on the stage
I'm gonna be leaving all those doubts behind
I'm step, I'm stepping into the lightI'm gonna be spreading my wings
Following a path they can't see
Chasing an adventure, that's all mine
I'm step, I'm stepping into the lightI'm shedding the skin that I'm in
Never hiding who I am ever again
That girl you knew, she's, ready to ignite
I'm step, I'm stepping into the lightI hear clapping from behind me and turn to see Sunset Curve themselves.
Then, the teacher says, "You're in."
