I've been stolen.
They plan to kill me.
I know I'm going to die.
But so are they.
~~~~~~~~~~
Does she know I can see her?
Does she know she's not alone? < this boi creepin hard >
The girl's crouching in a corner with her bare arms around herself. Only a black tank top and denim shorts keeping her warm. Her long, full, black < I'm sorry, can you describe her hair more please? Maybe more adjectives? > hair covers her all the way down to her knees. < My gosh, what is she rapunzel? >
The floor is blanketed in ash, leaving black marks all over my shoes as I circle around looking for any exits. The only thing in this room is dusty air and dirt. I am < First person is for the weak. > caged in by jagged concrete walls. < Jagged? Who knew walls could be jagged. Not me, noppity nope. >
This horrendous < Fancy Word Counter: 1 > room is empty. But it isn't. < It is empty. But it is not empty. Got it. > I can feel the essence of something else in here, something that isn't human. < He's a prophet. Call Jesus. > I risk a quick side glance to the corner of the room but nothing is there. I decide to ignore it.
'Bad move,' said that conscience-like voice deep in the back of my mind. < Oop, his conscience is a person. Heyyy, Stacy, how're the kids? >
I take off my coat and walk over to her. < Honestly, I forgot there was another person here.> Holding it out to her I say "Take it. You need it more than me," < Such a gentlemen. > but when I open my mouth no words come out. < Nevermind. >
She's not even looking at me. Her eyes examine the room behind me like I'm invisible. < Um, okay. > A terrified screech roars out of her miniscule frame. < Go off, sis. >
Turning around slowly, I see a creature with the body of a lion but a head that no being on this earth should have, < Awwww, it just needs a little TLC. Pets, hugs, snuggles, the works. > tramping toward us. It had teeth sharp enough to break glass and a nose made specifically for sniffing out prey. < *proceeds to cuddle with said animal* >
The eyes were what really got my attention. Shaped with the outer edge up they held the glacial < Fancy Word Counter: 2 > indifference of a being lacking feeling. Ringed around the pupil was pure silver. The rest was as black as the soul of a demon. < The simile there is just *chef's kiss*. >
The hair matched, it was completely covered in dull silver with a few streaks of black. All of it was in thick clumps. < Have you tried using Tresemme? >The grotesque < Fancy Word Counter: 3 > mane swayed as the otherworldly animal came to a standstill directly in front of my face. It's breath smelled of blood. < Brush yo teeth. >
That didn't help my growing anxiety that this horrendous < Fancy Word Counter: 4 > thing was about to rip my eyes out with its claws.
The creature springed, going through me and towards the girl. It was like my mind was here but my body was somewhere else. < I wish I was somewhere else. >
The savage < Fancy Word Counter: 5 > monster landed and readied itself to rip her throat out.
And all of the concrete walls shattered to pieces. < It's spooky season y'all. >
Hope you enjoyed the Prologue as much as I did!
Sike. I wanna jump off a cliff, but this is somehow still better than doing the piles of homework I have that were due last week.
Don't you just love Virtual School?
What was your favorite/worst part of the Prologue?
