I watch and watch. I knew I shouldn't be thinking of something that may seem concerning, but it was hard not to. Hard not to think about it to say the least. I watched Rainbow Steve and the others all gathered around, working to decorate the whole Rainbow Town for the upcoming Autumn season. I smiled softly a little. It wasn't real. Nothing I ever did felt real anymore. Shaking my head, I stood up and left the tree I was sitting under, leaving without a word or sound. As if I was never there to begin with.
As he leaves, he hears his friends laugh and talks about various things. The fond memories of the past. Recent events. Or just normal everyday events.
He smiled a little, genuinely, but it wasn't enough to brighten his mood. Without saying a word, he left the town and went to the forest. Wanting time to himself. Without anyone by his side.
Walking through the forest, away from the soft glow of the lights and the safety of the town. I continued to walk, without a single destination in mind. After a while, I eventually found a simple clearing, not too large or small, but just enough got him to still be able to see the sky, but also stay hidden under the tree leaves. Giving a sigh, I walk over to the largest tree and sit at the base of it, leaning onto the tree. No doubt it's a beautiful night. The only night I would ever get to have all to himself. Without no one to interrupt it.
No Steve's.
No players.
No villains.
No world ending.
I just wanted to watch the stars rise.
And just nothing, but peace and quiet
....
Is it just too much to ask for? Just a time to be by myself and relax? I guess it's a little selfish, yet it is not.
Everyone slowly just, forgotten I was ever there. At first, it hurt, but overtime. I grew used to being excluded from everything. Although... I guess it's fine. At least I can have some peace and quiet and just gaze at the stars.
*
I was confused, while I was talking to the others, I saw him leave, I wasn't sure why, but lately, he's been distant from all of us. It's worrying us to say the least. I asked the others if they knew anything, but they didn't, they never noticed him acting differently before, but now that they thought about it, they haven't seen him at all anymore. It was as if...he was never there...
I'm worried, why wouldn't he tell us anything? Why did we ignore him for so long?
The Overseer told me to calm down, but I couldn't, I can't lose my best friend. Light Steve can't lose his father either. I'm scared, is what I told the others. I know they're just as worried and scared as I am, but I can't help, but feel as though this is much more important than I ever thought. Something is really wrong and it sends shivers up my spine. What is wrong?
*
I was walking through the forest, on my way back to the town after being gone for quite awhile, until I saw him sitting under the lathe tree, gazing at the stars in a small clearing. I was confused to say the least, he was usually with the others or doing something. I wonder why he was out here, especially on a wonderful night. Then again, the stars are out and they're quite beautiful.
Curious and concerned, I walked over to him. "Hey, what are you doing here?" I asked, he looked at me with a slight smile and said that he just wanted to watch the stars. I could tell that smile wasn't real. Not at all. He was hiding behind a masked man that was slowly breaking. Something I was quite familiar with to say the least. It was concerning in all honesty. I asked him if he is alright, all he said is that he's fine, but I don't trust what he says. Not now are least.
I sit down at the base of the tree and look at the stars, to say the least, this is the rarest time I ever see the stars out like this. It's nice and peaceful honestly. "Origin Steve, why are you here?" I heard him asked, I pondered an answer, but told him my reason for leaving and why I'm coming back now. He nodded in understanding, saying how it's nice to at least have a journey on your own to learn and figured out what to do in life.
...
Something is wrong, but what it is, I'm not so sure what it is. I told him that I'm going to go back to the town now, he said it was fine that he'll go back later, I trust his words for the time being. I stood up and continued my way back to the town, telling him goodbye.

I can't help, but shaked the feeling that...this would be the last time I would see him?

After Origin Steve left, I stayed here. Looking at the stars, once I was sure he was far away, I took out a knife. Putting it down, I rolled up my sleeves to show the faded scars I have. Not caring anymore, I picked up the knife again and started cutting again, the familiar sting of pain, I forgot about, just maybe, I should go and not return anymore. Just maybe. The others wouldn't ever notice I'm gone....
... Would they?
...I'm sorry everyone...

After talking to Origin Steve, who had returned to the town again, he told me that he was in the forest in a small clearing, gazing at the stars. I was slightly confused, but more concerned. Why didn't he say anything to any of us? Apparently, Origin Steve mirrored the same concern as all of us, saying how he had used a fake smile, instead of a genuine smile. That alarmed us, how did someone like him who's brave and pure, hide behind a mask?
...
What happened to you?...
*
After times have passed, the others notice that he hasn't returned, worried and concerned. Rainbow Steve and Origins Steve set out to go find him, not knowing what they would ever find about their friend. After a good while, Origin Steve frowned, saying he can feel something very very wrong. Without a second thought, the two quickly run to the clearing, only to be horrified by the sight in front of them. There, the person they were looking for, limp and was pale as a sheet of paper, their arm bleeding greatly from various cuts, a knife in one hand and had a small, yet genuine smile.
Origin Steve quickly went to him, checking for a pulse, sighing in relief up in finding one, albeit weak, but still alive nonetheless. He quickly used some Healing and bandaged his cut arms. Rainbow Steve slowly walked over to them and kneel in front of him.
