Chapter 9: Battle Trial

~Inside Mystic's head~

Where the fuck am I? I look around and see I'm on a bed. I sit up and and slide off walking towards the door. Twisting the door handle I open the door and peer out at the long narrow hallway. It's pitch black so I can't see a thing and I have to hold on the what I think is the wall to find a switch for a light. I continue down the hall until a see a dim light and a staircase leading down to it. A carefully tred down the steps getting closer I hear static and see that's it's a tv with a couch facing in its direction. The back of a head is facing my direction and I have half the mind to go back from where I came from. Instead I slowly walk toward the chair. " Hello, you ok?" No answer... " You good? You know that tv isn't showy anything right?" Still no answer... At this point I start to get a little freaked out. I back up to go back upstairs when the head slowly turns in my direction. A empty pool of black stares back at me with a stitched up grin and let's out an ear piercing screech. I let out a scream of my own and hurriedly scramble back up the stairs. I can hear the creature scrambling up the sty behind me knocking against the walls. I get to the top of the stair case and sprint down the hallway. The more I run the longer I feel the hallway getting j can hear the monsters screeching getting louder and louder practically feeling it breathe down my neck. My heart's beating erratically I'm not sure if I'm going to make it. I take a glance through the corner of my eye and see it getting ready to swipe at me. At the last second I dive down and slide through the door and slam it closed. Pushing against it till I know I can lock it. The monster still hanging against it. I run to the closet and go to the farthest corner I can get to. I curl up on myself not knowing what else to do...................... I stop and realize I feel a breeze on my back. Then I remember I'm in a closet. I slowly turn my body around not prepared for what I might see. A long lanky thing is hanging from a rod in the closet and is peering at me. It opens its jaws rows and rows of sharp teeth glinting at me. My eyes widen and I open my mouth to let out a scream. The thing charges at me as soon as my voice comes out of my throat....

RING RING RING

I wake up sweating and panting from the nightmare I just had. I look around my room to see it's just as dark and fumble around for my phone. When I feel the cool surface i turn it on and click the flashlight. Shining the light around my room and then under my bed I hop out and run to the light switch quickly turning it on. My room is covered with the white light and I slide down the wall catching my breath. Well shit that's not how I wanted to start the day. I grab the wall for support and walk towards the bathroom to get ready to start the day.

I walk down the steps and stop once I reach the end and look around the corner at the living room to see the light off and parents and the kitchen. Or is it my parents??? I grab one if kings stuffed toys and throw it at my supposedly mothers head. It bounces off and she's whips around to showcase the eyes I've always seen and no blackness. I sigh and smile knowing it really was just a dream. I celebrate to quick when I realize I just launched a dog toy at my moma head. I turn around and she her standing behind me with her hand raised.
