Thunder

Killua was wandering around the house, trying to find a way to entertain himself.
He and Gon had decided to visit Aunt Mito back at Whale Island, but she had to run some errands and ended up getting caught in the storm, having to wait it out in a store.

The slightly older of the two was shut in his room, and had been there for about an hour now.
In fact, he had been in his room ever since it started storming.

There was a clap of thunder and a flash outside, the building shaking slightly as it made contact with the ground.

Rain was hitting the window panes, pounding on the roof, and soaking the ground below.
The wind was blowing roughly, playing with the tree tops, scattering leaves all around.

The albino carded a hand through his snowy white hair and with a sigh, proceeded to make his way up the stairs.
He padded over to Gon's room soundlessly, and reached out for the door handle. About to turn and pull it, he stopped when he heard something from the other side.
It sounded like... a whimper?

Alarmed, Killua rushed to open the door and as he did, thunder roared again. The dark room was flooded with bright light as it happened, temporarily blinding the cerulean eyed boy.
Fumbling to find the light switch located along the left wall, he finally palmed it out, quickly flicking it on.

There on the bed, sat the one and only Gon, a blanket thrown over him.
He was curled up in a ball, eyes squeezed shut and hands covering his ears.
The black haired boy was shaking, his lower lip trembling as he bit it to hold back tears.

Killua walked over and sat on the edge of the bed, the weight difference causing the other to peer at him with scared amber eyes.

The paler of the pair opened his mouth to ask a question, but was interrupted by an angry reverberation.

Gon winced as it happened, clenching his jaw, fear painted all over his face.
The lightbulb flickered out and he wailed as they were both shrouded by darkness.
The moon was barely illuminating the room, and it wasn't even visible half the time as clouds were quick to cover it, but slow to move out of the way.

Killua got up and quickly went over to the corner that contained his items. Getting out his pair of headphones, he came back to the bed and sat at the edge of it.

Carefully the albino placed his cool hands atop of Gon's warm ones. The black haired boy cautiously opened his auburn eyes, which were shining with terror.

The albescent haired one gently brought the others wrists away from from his ears, putting them in his lap.
He then placed the headphones over Gon's ears, slightly ruffling his ashy hair.

Tightly securing the blanket, Killua then pulled the bronze eyed boy closer to himself, draping his arms around his body in a protective manner.

Gon buried his face in the others chest, gripping the collar of his shirt as if it was the last thing he'd do.

There was a low rumble outside, and the older of the two pressed himself closer to Killua, a few salty drops escaping from his eyes and soaking the lazuline eyed boy's sweater.

The paler of the pair started humming a melody, stroking the other hunter's back in what he hoped was a soothing manner.

After a few minutes of Gon sniffling and shivering, he slowly started to calm down. The familiar scent of peppermint and fresh dew was one he found soothing, so he relaxed ever so slightly.

Killua, who had not stopped humming or rubbing the others back, felt the corners of him mouth turn up.

Unwrapping his arms and moving away, the ashy haired boy let out a small whimper from the loss of touch.

The snowy boy then pulled the other down, bringing his arms around the amber eyed boy's waist.

Gon, who was surprised at first, cuddled up against the albino, soaking up his warmth and presence.

His breath hitched every time thunder resounded, but he felt safer in the cool arms.

Eventually, the storm made its way, leaving only a light drizzle behind. Small raindrops pitter-pattered rhythmically on the glass, and the wind became a light breeze.

Gon's shivering finally subsided, and he ended up falling asleep in Killua's arms, his hair a bit messy and lips parted slightly.

The albino inhaled, the smell of evergreen and cinnamon making drowsiness hit him like a bag of bricks.

Sighing in contentment, the azure eyed boy closed his eyes, letting sleep whisk him away.
