"May bagong schedules na?" Nurse Pia said as she looked at the nurses' boards at the pediatric nurses' station. She and Nic had been assigned to work during the third shift of 10:00pm to 6:00am. Most of the time though, Nic would not get to leave her post on time. Ever since Dr. Richard joined the pediatric 'team', Nic would find herself having to work over-time just to calm the kids whenever the doctor made his rounds.

"Ano bang meron dyan kay Sungit? Simula nung nagtrabaho yan dito, kahit di sya nagsasalita, parang may nakapalibot na masamang hangin at na-t-tense ang mga bata?" Patricia, a nurse on mid-shift duties, shared.

"Ano sya, Dementor?" Pia chuckled. "...pero, may napansin ako..." Pia said as she sat beside Patricia at the nurses' desk.

"Ano?"

"...kapag si Nic ang kasabay nya sa ward or sa mga kwarto ng mga bata, medyo mas kalmado ang aura ng lahat...parang binabalanse ng presence ni Nic yung kasungitan ni Doc..."

"Sabagay...at napansin ko din na..." Patricia added.

"Na ano?" Pia looked up from her paperwork.

"Na mga after ilang linggo na nagkakasabay sila, hindi na masyado ang kunot ng noo nya..."

"Di ko pa nakikitang ngumingiti yun sa harap ng mga bata..." Pia pondered.

"Hindi nga...pero parang hindi na sya masyadong inis o galit..."

"Baka lumipas na ang period..." Pia joked.

"Sira!" Patricia laughed and playfully gave Pia a high five.

"Hmm...wish ko nalang sana na balang araw, ngumiti na sya at di na kailangan ng tulong natin masyado dahil mas tanggap na sya ng mga bata..."

"Sana..." Patricia sighed.

"So, napansin nyo rin ang pagbabago kay Richard?" Dr. Rodriguez said when she passed by the nurses' station on her way to the conference room and doctor's offices right next door.

"Po?" Pia and Patricia looked up from their seats.

"Si Richard...si Sungit...yun yung tawag nyo sa kanya diba?"

"Ah eh..." Both girls looked down guiltily.
