Lexi's POV

"Dad? Is that you?"

"You bet!" Dad answered, just as excited to see me and I was to see him.

He quickly ran and covered the distance between the two of us, wrapping his big arms around my waist and lifting me off the ground a little. He spun me around in a circle like he used to do with me as a child, making me laugh.

He put me down and ran a hand through my now-short hair.

"Guess you went through a lot of changes since you've been gone," He pulled a strand of loose hair behind my ear.

"Yeah, I guess,"

Then, the moment I most dreaded, but knew was inevitable, began. Dad looked at my growing stomach. I was around three and a half months along so my bump was visible, unless I was wearing something really loose and baggy. But right now, I was wearing a normal t-shirt which hugged my bump.

Dad's eyes widened and I saw his hands start shaking.

"Dad, calm down." I raised my hands, ready to start backing away if his shaking worsened.

"Care to explain what that might be?" He shouted, jabbing a finger towards my stomach.

"It's pretty self-explanatory, don't you think?" I replied. Dad could stay angry at me but he has no opinion in my problems. "Yes, I am pregnant. No, it wasn't planned. I am well aware that this is the worst timing imaginable,"

"You can't be fighting, then," Dad was still angry, but he'd stopped shaking for the most part. He quickly shot Harry, who had just reached me and now stood beside me, a death stare.

"I have to! And would you care to explain why you showed up with the pack?"

"We received a letter from a 'Minerva McGonagall' which stated that Hogwarts need as many allies as possible. She also sent a thing called a Portkey with the letter and she, thankfully, attached instructions of how to use it. We went from La Push to just at the gate back there."

"Why the wolves?" Harry asked Dad.

"Old Billy decided to tell me just before we left about an old alliance between the shapeshifters and the wizards and witches. Something about them living together a while ago and fighting together and other stuff I wasn't really paying attention to," Seth butted in, flashing me a smile. I smiled back at him.

Why had Billy not told anyone until recently?

As if reading my thoughts, McGonagall walked up beside me, placing her hand delicately on my shoulder.

"The 'shapeshifters' and  the wizards and witches had a falling out, which turned into a war, where many of the wolves died, leaving only your father's pack's ancestors. They crossed the Atlantic Ocean and set up their home in the United States, far away from here. I knew this was a rash decision and I really should have asked you, Lexi, but we need as many numbers as possible," McGonagall told me.

"I understand. Good call. Dad's pack is tough as nails and can handle just about anything," I smiled at my father.

He smiles slightly, looking at my stomach again.

"I wish you would've waited," He said, saddened. "But you two will make excellent parents. Lexi, I hope you can protect yourself extraordinarily well, or that you have someone helping you constantly. You'll most likely be a target since you and Harry are so close,"

Dad gave me a look that no one else understood. He was aware that Harry was my imprintee and he'd known for a while, even though I'd never told him.

I nodded, knowing Harry and I can help each other out.

"Get everyone ready. They're close to breaking through the barrier," Paul stated sternly.

McGonagall nodded and rushed back inside.
