Sick

It was a week or so later when Kao woke up. Waking up in the morning usually doesn't represent nothing to Kao, he finds it easy, but today is a different story. Feeling a headache kicking in, he never found getting out of bed so bothersome.

His phone rang and he took it from the table on the left side of his bed. It was Boun, one of his most trusted, if not the most trusted, people in the company.

Kao answered the phone, throwing himself on bed that for some reason he wasn't ready to leave this morning.

"Kao, there is some guy looking for you at the company" due to a sudden pain caused by his headache Kao needed a few seconds to answer.

"Whoever it is, send him away. I won't be coming today" he can't believe that he just said that.

"Kaoo, did I hear that right? You just said you won't be coming today?" His friend's voice was making him feel dizzy even more. Was he drinking yesterday?

"Just go to Prem already" Kao was irritated, but the second after he felt sorry. It wasn't Boun's fault. But Kao also knew that Boun wouldn't mind. Everybody knows he has a crush on a Lays addicted part-time worker in a shop that is part of a company's building.

Kao could hear laughter on the other side of the line "Just tell the guy to come some other day, I'm hanging up" he was ready to finish the call when he heard yelling.

"What is all of the yelling for?!!" Expecting to hear Boun's voice on the other side of the line he wasn't mindful of the tone of his voice, so hearing a total stranger answering the phone got him surprised.

"P'!!" Kao sat up in his bad. Who is this? The voice didn't sound familiar at all "I don't know if you remember me still but you gave me your card daaays ago" he was talking nonsence and Kao had to move the phone away from his ear.

"P'? P'? Are you still there? Do you hear me?"

"Yes" could this get any worse really?

"Anyways, I really need your help. Like, right now. This second. And you are not here" Well, sorry for feeling sick. But of course he couldn't just say that.

"Am I supposed to know you, again?" Kao was now just a confused little puppy.

"Yes! Well.no? Not exectly" what kind of gibberish is this?

Kao took a deep breath "Can you get to the point? I am already tired as it is" he moved his phone from his ear and put it on speaker, moving to get some water from the desk next to his bed.

Kao could hear huffing on the guy's part and couldn't help but roll his eyes "Okay. I am Earth, the guy who saved you from that woman days ago. At the cafe. You gave me your card and told me to look for you if I ever need anything" Kao stopped moving, his brain registering what the guy was saying. Closing his eyes he tried to remember such a situation. Before he knew it the guy from the cafe, and than that restaurant, came to his mind.

"I remember. What do you need?" His voice got lower, stoic, cold, going into his bussiness mode.

"A-Ah I" Kao smirked. Probably wasn't expecting the tone changing. He could hear the guy, Earth, gulping "I-I-I.." his voice was shaking. What in the world?

"Just spill it out" Kao cheaked his forehead. He was burning. Just great.

"I need money" well, was it that hard to say?

"How much?"

"You..are not wondering why?" Earth was asking him while he was trying to find some pils to calm down his headache, or now rather a cold.

"Not my bussiness"

Earth was starstruck. When he was coming this way, showing the taxi driver a card that he was given, in hopes that he will know where it was located, he wasn't expecting a building this big.

Putting a card in his pocket, he calmed himself down before going to the entrance of the building. The door in front of him opened and he was yet again struck. If he thought that the outside was big, the inside was huge. Phones ringing, people speed walking, or better say running, having meetings. Looking around he never noticed a guy with a ponytail coming his way (why he hasn't noticed him is a mistery) and they collided, sending Earth to the floor.

"Sorry Nong sorry" all Earth could do before the guy pulled him up, with easy he might as well add, was to nod.

"That's okay" at a sorry expression on his face, Earth couldn't help but to smile. At least he seemed sincere.

The guy smiled "But who are you?"

Earth laughed awkwardly "Ah yes. I am here to look for this person" he took the card from his pocked, giving it to the guy.

Earth saw the guy's eyes widening slightly. He looked for his name tag. Boun. "You know Kao?"

"Kind of" he smiled the sweet smile of his.

"Okay" Earth was surprised for Boun gave up so easily. If this was Fluke..he didn't want to imagine that. Endless questions. They would come from 'what's your name?" to 'let's be friends forever' in just a couple of hours.

Boun took a phone out of his pocket and dialed a number "Kao, there is some guy looking for you at the company" that was fast.

They were having a conversation about him yet Earth felt like he was third whelling. Until Boun told him Kao was about to hang up. Not knowing what came over him, Earth jumped on Boun, startling him, and probably a lot of people around them.

"P'!!" He yelled on the phone "I don't know if you remember me still but you gave me your card daaays ago" after not getting an answer he got worried.

"P'? P'? Are you still there? Do you hear me?" He got a short reply but it wasn't about to stop him in getting what he came here for.

"Anyways, I really need your help. Like, right now. This second. And you are not here" it sounded too much even to his own ears. But it's already said.

At Kao's next question Earth wasn't sure how to answer. Did they know each other? Maybe? Kind of? Yes? No? "Yes! Well.no? Not exectly"

Earth could only imagine how irritated he seemed to Boun who was trying really hard not to laugh.

Get to the point he says.

"Okay. I am Earth, the guy who saved you from that woman days ago. At the cafe. You gave me your card and told me to look for you if I ever need anything" he was putting extra accent on saved and anything, just to make it clear.

Kao guy finally got to a point, asking him what he needed but when he opened his mouth to talk he couldn't say a thing "A-Ah I" Kao's tone of voice changed. Before he could at least sense that he was irritated but any emotion now vanished away "I-I-I.." why was his voice shaking so much?

"Just spill it out" Kao told him. That's what he did.

"I need money" he was embarassed to say it out loud but still whispering so no other people could hear him. It did sound better in his head. He was collecting all of the parts of the story in his head, ready to spill out his whole soul if that's what is needed for Kao to help him when

"How much?" Was the only thing Kao asked. Is this for real? Just that much?

"You..are not wondering why?" Earth found himself asking carefully.

"Not my bussiness" Earth was relieved.

He got all giddy, happy that he will be done with this soon "Can we meet somewhere else? I don't really feel comfortable talking about this in your company. It feels like people around are staring at my every little move"

"Not today" was Kao's answer "Come tomorow" he hang up.

But I need the money today.

Earth turned to Boun "Where does Kao live?"
