Chapter 2: Yuqi's voice

Dear Diary,

Last night was good. Soojin unnie slept with me when I felt so down, things started to take easy but it still hurts. I am now beside her, watching as she breathe in and out, how her lips would part ways and how her mole under her eyes looked so beautiful.

Slowly, I escaped her warmth and sat up. The calendar catched my attention Today was December 1.

Empty, I still walked out of her room and watched as People gather at the living room. Familliar voices. It must be the members, talking about our song. I could hear the Vocal Trainer and the producer talk. Suddenly a soft voice came out, I stood there listening to them.

"She can't sing well. We dont have a choice but just give her the chorus"

"Give her atleast a dance break or anything.., she can do it"

"If the song doesn't go well– it's your fault, Miyeon"

Miyeon...

But they were right, I can't sing well. Who am I to complain about that, it is literally the truth. And truth hurts like hell.

I felt someone hugging me, and I stood there, feeling so empty after hearing the conversation.

"Everyone wants you to have a line Shu, and I want it to happen" Soyeon. Her voice was so straight-forward almost like a machine. Which I mentally laughed. Though the pain was still there, my members are troubled because of me and it sucked to think that I was a burden to them. They could've just kick me out of the group but they didn't " Everything is fine with me unnie, you could just let me wear something dirty and I would still be okay with it" I joked but Soyeon wasn't getting it so she just hugged me and pat my head whispering "We love you"

Bitterly, it was the smile I gave. Soyeon unnie went ahead of me, probably editing the song while I went back to my bed last night. It hurts when I landed on it but I was too shy to go back to Jinjins room.

"Mind if I sleep here too?" Yuqi, my bestfriend. I experienced being with her throughout my ny trainee days and she was a good friend. Might be loud but she keeps quiet when it comes to my problems and secrets which I appreciate. "Yeah sure" was all I said then she layed beside me and hugged me like an ugly koala. Though I'm also ugly so maybe it's fair. ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

"You know, we should hang out. I'm tired, and my throat is hurting from singing" Yuqi said, acting dramatic right beside me "It's because you're too loud" I replied, the next thing I knew was that I ran out and head straight to the living room where mostly all of the members were except Soyeon unnie. "YOU—!"  Yuqi shouted which hurted my ears. Though I still laughed trying to get away from her.

A huge thud was heard and then I fell. Not on the floor.. but Minnie unnies body. Panting, I quickly get up and helped her, bowing as I repeatedly say sorry. I never got the chance to be close with Minne unnie like Yuqi or Soojin unnie. Though I really wanted to start a conversation with her.

"It's fine. Now go run and hide" Minnie unnie had that soft voice and it was so relaxing to hear. She giggled earlier so I smiled and ran away to who knows?  "YEH SHUHUA! JUST ONE SLAP THEN WE'RE GOOD!"

I ended up having this red mark on my shoulder and was like a tattoo only replaced with Yuqis hand. It was painful, but it was still funny, HAHA! I'm glad I have friends like her.

No matter how loud you shout Yuqi, it's just the same when you're crying at night
