"So this was your old highschool?" I take a deep breath nodding my head. "Yup for four years this was my living hell."
"Huh I thought it would be more horror like." I hear him say. I bust out laughing, rolling my eyes at him. "Oh just you wait. Let's go." Trevor gets out first rushing over and opening my door helping me out. We walk towards the entrance, we are a bit late, but I wasn't meeting anyone anyways so it doesn't matter.
When we walk into the lobby there is a table set up at the opening of the gym. Trevor and I walk up. The lady looks us up and down. "Name please." I look at her name tag, Tami, I remember here she was always the one to organize all the dances and school activities.
"April Young and one guest." The lady looks at me before letting out a laugh. "Really" I give her a smile as she keeps laughing. I look at Trevor who gives me a shrug. I look back at her and she realizes that I was not kidding. "Oh really." I nod my head. "Mhm." she starts to type on her computer before giving each of us a name tag. I write our names on them. We start to walk by the table and I catch Tami staring at Trevor a little too long. I reach up and grab Trevor by the face pulling his head down towards mine. I place a kiss on his lips before walking back and leaving a shocked expression on Tami's face.
"What was that for?" He asks, raising his eyebrows at me. "Come one you didn't see the way she was looking at you." I return the look he is giving me. He shakes his head and laughs "No I was too busy looking at you." That comment leaves a blush on my cheeks.
As we get closer to the gym I can hear the dance music. It is soft enough that you can still talk over the sound, but loud enough that you can still hear it. We walk inside and the lights are off but there are beautiful garden lights littered all around the room. Connecting each light is a white drape fixed with gold sparkle. It elongate nothing like the old highschool dances, it machure.
Trevor and I walk over to the bar, I order a glass of the punch while Trevor orders a glass of bourbon. We start to walk around the room looking around admiring the decorations. As we were looking at one of the yearbooks set up at a table in the corner someone bumps me from behind.
I hear someone mumble a sorry and then laugh. I turn around to see who it was and come face to face with one of my high school's meanest mean girls. "Sorry didn't mean to bump you." She looks down at my name tag. "Wait, April Young. No way." she sets down her drink on the table as she looks across the gym. "Hey guys, come here for a sec." she yells. I take a deep breath as Marissa's little group walks over. The group consists of Julia, Robert, and Mackenzie. "Guys you remember April Young." she points to me. Everyone looks a little shocked before mumble yes's.
"Wow. Life has treated you good." Marissa says with a smirk. She looks over at Trevor extending her hand for him to shake. "Hello, I'm Marissa and you are?" she gives him a look as if she is flirting with her eyes. What is up with everyone flirting with my boyfriend. I can feel my jealousy bubbling up. He extends his hand and shakes it. "I'm Trevor Warren. April's boyfriend." he quickly lets go of her hand in which he looks a little offended. It's Julia who speaks up next. "I know you, your famous aren't you?" Trevor gives a small chuckle before snaking his arm around my waist. "No I wouldn't say famous. Now April here she is famous." I look up at him as he gives me a small wink.
"Famous" Marissa laughs under her breath. She thought now one would notice but I did and It made me want to rub everything in her face. I give her a tight lipped smile "So Marissa what have you been up to since highschool?" she looks between her posy then me before giving a smirk. "Well after going to college to get a business degree, I can back her and now run one of the biggest department stores in the state." I give her a nod. "Wow, impressive." She gives me a proud look. "And what about you, after graduation you left in quite a hurry, and since I don't see Mikael on your arm I assume it wasn't becoming a housewife." she says sarcastically.
