A/N: This was potentially an assignment for my Brit Lit class. The story behind it was that I wanted to write something lovely about Luca and Asra (The Arcana) because that's all I think about. I don't remember who's actually talking, probably Asra, but they're looking to cross the desert with their lover. Reminds me of that line from Joanna Newsom's "Only Skin"-- "Come across the desert with no shoes on, I love you truly or I love no one." Anyway, the poem suggests that the Desert is in love with the Sea.

Do you know of where the desert meets the sea?

She holds herself out to be swallowed whole

By the waves that match her riffs and solace.

I imagine the air is different there

From the places we've ventured all these years.

I like to think she knows of love, the desert.

Say, if we take step would she welcome us?

Or hold fast with her temperament to test?

Her heart is only known by one: Neptune.

Hands that interlock at that blooming edge,

Wave upon wave and sand upon sand.

Might you come with me just to see the sea?

Rest your mind of such thoughts as work, love,

And pray, let us be wayward travelers

Onward to where the desert meets the sea.
