I remember those moonlit nights
Living under the same shaky roof
You and I witnessing all the chaos together
When I'd try to pull my hair out
With a ftuitless belief of them mending my turmoil together
You'd pull me to a corner
Smoothen my eyes around
To calm my sobbing breaths
And I'd wonder why.
You knew it all along!
You knew how their words would cut me to shreds with every new wreck
You knew how they'd keep on butchering my flesh for it to shatter afresh
You knew how i'd begin to count every moment of glee for the fear of never living them
You knew!
Only why you kept me close
Then.
And murmured into my bones
To let the tears flow
To vent the lump out of my throat
You knew!
How holding them in
Would transform me into a person my blood would hate to survive along
You knew it all,
When I knew this not.
