The morning of Hogwarts

The next few days couldn't have gone any slower for Lyra, her father was still very mad at the fact that she had the nerve to speak to the Weasley's politely, let alone the fact that she spoke back at him when he told her off for doing so. Due to this Lyra spent most of her time in her room, occasionally slipping out while her father was away at work for a walk around the house or garden. Draco too had been keeping very quiet since the incident as if he was too scared to even put a finger out of line. Draco often lingered outside of Lyra's door in silence, he never knocked or walked in, or even just spoke a single word. He would just stand there if he was passing and wait for a minute or so with a look of guilt and sadness plastered across his face before setting off to where ever he was going to again. Narcissa always came up after the rest of the family had eaten and dropped Lyra a plate of food, sometimes she sat with her while she ate it in silence, other times she spoke a little or sometimes she just dropped the plate at the door before knocking and walking away. Needless to say Lyra's last few days at Malfoy manor were not in the slightest eventful. Which brings us to the last night she spent at the manor before her and Draco were to leave for London the next day to catch the Hogwarts Express at Platform 9 and 3/4. Lyra didn't eat much that night, Narcissa came in with a plate that was full with food but Lyra could barely stomach any of it. "what's up darling?" Narcissa whispered quietly as Lyra pushed around some stray peas with her fork "not hungry" Lyra said in reply "well i could have told you that myself, i mean why do you look so down?" Lyra shrugged before plastering a big pretentious fake smile over her face. "you can't fool me, i have been caring for you and your brother since you were both born. Now tell me what is wrong?"Lyra sighed "what if i do get sorted into another house... like Draco says?" Narcissa let out a sort of small giggle "your brother was just teasing you, everyone knows that you have all the slytherin traits... just like your father, don't waste another thought in that pretty little head of yours about being placed into the wrong house... you belong in slytherin and we all know it, even Draco does, even if he hates to admit it." that made Lyra smile a bit Narcissa noticed and took the still practically full plate off Lyra before slowly getting to her feet and saying "now you better get into bed and start dreaming, your Father would like you and Draco up for 8 o'clock tomorrow morning so he can see you both get onto the platform before he goes to work... after all it is his daughters first day at Hogwarts." she smiles and gives a sly wink before walking to the door and slowly closing it.

The morning that Lyra and Draco went to go catch the Hogwarts express was pretty chaotic to say the least. Lyra woke up way to early, but it seemed like she wasn't the only one. From the noise that was coming from outside her room she could tell that someone else was just as eager to leave this house. Lyra had already packed, although lugging her two Lyra sized cases wasn't really her idea of fun, so she had left this part till this moment. However, coming from the family she did, leaving things to the last minute was frowned upon. Which was why both Lyra and Draco were just as surprised to see each other when Lyra opened her bedroom door with her dressing down tied tightly shut and pulling the first of her cases behind her. "what are you doing up this early?" Draco asked trying but failing to hide his last piece of luggage behind his back. "same reason as you... clearly" Lyra said quietly pointing out his bag and looking at her case behind her. Draco smiled slightly and hurried downstairs, Lyra heard a small thud coming from the hallway downstairs and guessed that Draco had just tossed his luggage rather then placing it down. To her surprise however, Draco ran back up the stairs still being careful as to make no noise and stopped outside her door. "Need any help?" he whispered, Lyra was taken make, not just mentally, she physically stepped back, "did you just offer me your help?" she said as her eyes widened in disbelief, Draco rolled his eyes "yes and it is a one time offer so choose quickly otherwise i am going to go back to bed until father wakes me up with his shouting." Lyra chuckled slightly, "yes please." he nodded at her before walking behind her and picking up the other trunk. As quietly as they could they slowly took the trunks down stairs and placed them with all the other things that were by the door ready to be sent off before them to platform 9 and 3/4, as their father thought that this was a necessity and too much luggage slows them down.
