I woke up to a rapid knocking on my bedroom door, groaning as the sunlight crept through my curtains, stinging my eyes.
"Miguel! Time to get up!"
I groan and roll out of bed, taking my phone out of my charger, checking the screen to no notifications. I get up and get dressed in a black shirt, jeans and a red leather jacket, fixing myself up to look presentable. I walk out of my bedroom and into the kitchen where my family is having breakfast.
"What's on the agenda today Abuela?" I ask, sitting down next to my mom.
"There's an open house at the Samfransokyo Institute of Technology, they're apparently showing off some of the student's creations in honor of the college being rebuilt"
"What happened to the college?" Rosa asks
"It burnt down in an accident, it supposedly killed someone, but thankfully only one person."
"What time are we leaving?" Aunt Carmen asks.
"It starts at noon, so we will leave around 11:00"
I nod as we are our healthy breakfast of sugary cereal, occasionally glancing at my phone as if I was gonna get a text from Hiro, even though I was dumb enough not to give him my number

My family and I make it to the entrance of the college, I'm not entirely sure what I was expecting in a semi futuristic city, but it certainly wasn't a college that was as big as an apartment building. The crowd was flowing into the entrance like a rushing river, my family merges into the crowd to step inside. The inside looks even better than the outside. Multiple students crowding around tables containing different types of inventions. Looking around at the different inventions, I spot a very familiar dark haired boy, holding a pencil in between his teeth as he uses a screwdriver to fix up a very small device. He's wearing a pair of glasses, the black rim only being visible on the top. I felt a warm blush creep up my face once again, the blush only becoming hot since the glasses add another layer of adorable to Hiro. Working up the courage, I walk over to Hiro's display table, leaning up against it.
"Hello there stranger"
Hiro looked up from his project, nearly dropping his screwdriver, "hey! I didn't expect to see you here!"
"My family sees a cool event and we're determined to go see it, I wasn't expecting to see you here"
"Well what can I say? I'm a bit of a nerd" Hiro chuckles a little, "oh! By the way, I'm doing a presentation on one of my lil inventions at 1:30, you should totally see it. It'll just be on the stage"
"Well, it's nearly 1:30, so you better get set up"
Hiro looked at the clock, "shit!!" Hiro grabs a couple of things from his station before b-lining towards the stage, briefly stopping to turn around and look at me, "I better see you there!"
I chuckle, "don't worry, you will!"
Hiro smiles and continues running towards the backstage.
"He's so cute.."
