brinley was currently sitting upright on her boyfriend's bed, her head resting on the headboard. she was humming along to the quiet music coming from his speaker and scrolling through her instagram while her boyfriend was in the shower. as she was scrolling through her instagram, she was liking every couple of photos or whenever she saw one of her friend's posts.

her eyebrows furrowed when she noticed the suggestive comments her boyfriend was leaving on this one girls posts from their school. clicking on her profile and going through some of her other posts, she noticed more of his comments on her posts. as brinley kept looking farther and farther into it, she found more girls and more posts that tyler was leaving flirty comments on.

her investigation was interrupted by a ding coming from his phone, she ignored it and kept going through instagram. she soon became annoyed when his phone started going off like crazy, so brinley picked up his phone to see what was so urgent and to turn it off. tears began to well up in her eyes as she saw a bunch of suggestive, dirty texts being sent from another girl.

brinley had been so caught up in this, that she didn't even hear the shower turn off and tyler come back into his room.

"what the fuck is this!" she yelled, turning the phone so that he could see it.

"babe it's not what it looks like, i promise." he tried to grab his phone from her but she quickly pulled it away.

"not what it looks like, oh please! 'i miss you baby,'" she read. "'i had so much fun the other night, we should do it again, i miss your touch, ugh i'm so horny!'" she imitated the girl. only reading a couple of the girls text messages.

"babe-" tyler started but was cut off by brinley. "i can't believe you! you promised! you promised that you'd never cheat on me again!"  she tried hard to fight them but tears threatened to spill from her eyes.

"i'm so sorry babe but you're just not satisfying me in that way, so i needed to find it somewhere else," he has a fake frown on his face and he reached out to hold her arms but she flinched and backed away. "you understand don't you? i would never cheat on you again unless i really really needed to."

"yeah, i do." she mumbled with a sigh, wiping a tear off her face with the sleeve of her top. brinley had fallen for his manipulation, trap and bullshit excuse once again. "but i think i should go home now, my mom wants me home for dinner." she turned towards the door.

"okay, i love you. see you tomorrow." he went in to kiss her but she turned her head causing his kiss to end up on her cheek. "tell your mom that i'd love to have dinner with your family again soon!" he called as she walked out his bedroom door.

"okay," brinley called out sadly as she left. "i doubt that will ever happen." she mumbled under her breath so that he couldn't hear her.

brinley managed to keep her composure and not let her tears fall during the drive back to her house. when she walked through the front door, she wasn't surprised to hear her parents yelling at each other probably over something dumb. she walked past the kitchen, which was where her parents were and headed up stairs, checking on her little sister before going to her room.

melody was happily playing with her dollhouse and barbies while somewhat blasting kids music from her pink sparkly speaker. brinley smiled at her sister as she leaned against her door frame.

melody wasn't completely oblivious to their parents fighting but she was such an optimistic person that she turned on her music and acted like everything was going to be okay.
