she is sixteen years old, dark chocolate brown hair that came to her lower stomach, and a light pink bow was tied in the back. her sea-blue eyes were mesmorizing, they could put anyone in a trance just by looking into them. she had ivory skin that burned easily in the sun, and her frame was small and fragile.

her father had past only little under a year after eliza clarke was born. he had died of lung cancer after battling it for five years. it was his second time battling it, and people had guess he was done trying. lung cancer had run in his family, once he was diagnosed he wasn't even surprised; it had been in his family for generations.

bella clarke, mourning widow and mother of two. she works as an history teacher in eliza's old middle school, and part time worked as a volunteer at the nearest animal shelter. eliza always loved visiting her mother at work, mainly because she was aloud to sit in pens with little kitties and puppies.

eliza was perched on the bench right next to the sliding doors. she was impatiently waiting for her name to be called, and when it finally was she jumped out of her seat, rushing up towards the counter. the nice lady behind the counter motioned her to follow her, leading her down a hall and into an elevator. they both went up to floor seven, the woman trying to make small talk but eliza wasn't in the mood for a conversation. once on the destination level, the woman lead the brunette down to room 7-K.

"she's right in there, sweetie." the receptionist said softly, opening the door and shuffling away.

el took a step into the white room and shut the door, walking until she spotted the bed, freezing at the sight of her best friend. she had tubes hooked up to her that were coming from all different machines. her face was bruised and her bottom lip had a huge cut. she was awake though - barley - and watching tv with her head propped up on two pillows.

el swallowed her tears and slowly walked over, audrey smiling at her friend weakly. audrey and eliza had been friends ever since they were five. lived right next to each other and went to the same elementary school. as they grew older their friendship only became stronger. they both had bought an apartment together only three miles away from their childhood homes. they had the same birthday, same taste in music, same everything. they even looked like they could be related.

after eliza had taken a seat next to the hospital bed, she kicked off her shoes and shrugged off her jacket, placing them both on the ground next to her seat. audrey had turned off the tv and turned to face her best friend of almost fifteen years. it took all of eliza not to just start to burst out into tears and tightly hug her hurt friend, but she managed to hold back.

"how are ya feeling, aud?" eliza asked softly, placing a hand on the handle next to one of audrey's arms.

"i feel like a million bucks," she smiled sarcastically, wincing in pain.

aud had just been in a terrible car accident two days ago. it was exactly two a.m. and she was on her way to the store because eliza was complaining since she didn't have any mt. dew throwback. she was sick, but she claimed that her favorite pop made her feel better. sometimes it actually did and nobody really understood it. anyway, as she was on her way to the store she was crossing a four-way intersection and out of no where, a large bmw had spun out of control and hit audreys car, right where she was sitting, and got trampled into another car that hit the passenger side of her small car, immediately the automobile got crushed and somehow audrey had lived with many broken bones and bruises.

"i'm sorry," eliza said, barely a whisper.

audrey sighed, placing her hand over her friends, "it wasn't you fault. no need to apologize."

"but it was my fault. if i wasn't being such a whining bitch you wouldn't of gone out to the store and get hit by a car." eliza looked down at her lap as her eyes teared up.

"el, its okay to cry." audrey said weakly, "i know you're upset. if you cried it wouldn't make me hurt more, i promise."

and so she cried, cried for a half an hour, until audrey told her to stop being a pussy and watch some episodes of how i met your mother. eliza didn't even like the show but she never told aud that, for her safety. audrey's father is away at business and wouldn't be able to visit until next monday, which was in exactly six days. audrey didn't even tell her mother, she knew she wouldn't even come. her mother hated her daughters' guts for absolutely no reason, and audrey hasn't seen her since she was sixteen and had left her and her father.

she didn't care about her parents though, because her best friend was here with her, and soon her other friends would be visiting to see if she was okay. that's all that mattered to her.
