Author's POV
There you were, seated on the steal stool of the front bar. You didn't care how much drinks you've already taken but one thing was for sure, the sensation it was giving you, stung yet relieving. Your fingers played through the rim of the wineglass, recalling the past events that happened in your life. This is not me, you thought to yourself. Slowly, your vision got blurry and the next thing you knew, you woke up on your best friend's apartment.
Jimin's POV
She rubbed her eyes with her tiny knuckles. "Good morning Jimin," she greeted while her eyes were still closed. "Did I end up sleeping in your apartment again?" A weak smile painted on her face.
"Y/N..." I sighed and looked at her hopeless state. She was not like this before. She was not even a drinker herself, yet just to help herself forget the past – she was doing everything that would always end up either hurting herself, or worse. "You should stop," I caressed her cheek. She opened her eyes and I could feel how regretful she was. "I'm so sorry Jimin," she sat up and continued. "The pain here is just too much. I don't know what to do." She clenched her feeble hand close to her chest, "What did I do wrong, for him to leave me just like that?"
I watched her turned from being a strong woman to a delicate one. Now, my best friend was crying her heart out in front of me. Did the universe suddenly go against them?
Flashback – A Year Ago
Y/N's POV
"Jungkook-ah," I called out to my boyfriend who was happily playing with a kid on the lawn. While I was sitting on a bench where I could easily see him. After a few seconds, I saw him waved goodbye to the kid and jogged his way back to me. I sometimes wonder that his sweet angelic face does not compliment his toned muscular body, but who cares? I'm so lucky to have this handsome man by my side.
"What are you thinking?" He asked amusingly as he sat next to me, taking the water bottle from my hand.
"Nothing," I shyly responded. He grinned at me before moving the picnic basket to his right side, so that he could put his arm around my shoulder. "But your blushing," he poked my cheek. This time, I turned to his direction. His pleasantly youthful face was closer than before. We were just looking into each other's eyes then suddenly his lips touched mine. This guy always surprises me. It was a gentle but full kiss. Once we released each other, he whispered close to my lips. "I will always love you Lee Y/N."
Timeskip – Present Time
Y/N's POV
After Jungkook and I broke up, my best friend, Jimin had always been by my side. He's like a brother to me. Still sobbing, I spoke, "I'm really sorry Jimin. It's like you always pick up a trash to take into your beautiful apartment."
His brown sympathetic eyes looked at me, "Y/N, don't speak so bad of yourself. You just need some time. Have you thought of travelling or maybe engaging into sports?"
"You know me Jimin. I always end up hurting myself," I let out a dry laugh as I looked down.
He rubbed the back of his neck, and almost cursed himself. "I'm really sorry Y/N. It was not my intention, I just want you to-" I cut him off before he could continue with his next words. "You want me to move on," I completed. "I know Jimin. That's what you always tell me. Yet this hardheaded brain is just so stubborn," I pointed to my head and smiled.
"Are you still going to continue working at Jeonzen?" This question always came up on our conversation. I knew that by the sound of his voice, he was trying to avoid it. But we knew, this has to end. "You know, the gaming company owned by your ex-fiancé?" He ended up whispering to himself.
