Flashback – Ten Years Ago

Jungkook's POV

"Jungkook," the girl in front of me lowered her head and smiled shyly. Her lips curved upwards, making her rosy cheeks more visible. She continued, "I like you."

My eyes averted somewhere else. I didn't know how to properly turn her down, but I also didn't want to see her get hurt. She's my best friend too. "Hani, I'm so sorry bu-" I was not able to continue with my words. She cut me off by placing her index finger on my lips, "I know Jungkook. I know." What does she mean? I was totally confused. I didn't get what she was trying to say which she noticed. Soon, a weary smile formed on her face.

"I'm tired Jungkook," her expressive eyes met mine. "I'm tired of pretending to act as your best friend. I like you ever since the first day we met."

"Hani," I held her shoulders but she softly pushed my hands away as we stared into each other's eyes. All I could see was the heartache she was feeling. "I also know that Taehyung likes me. I've always known about it Jungkook," this time a tear slipped from her eye. "But it's you that I like, not Taehyung. Please don't push me away," she was pleading as her shaky hands touched mine.

I was about to release my hands from her touch when Taehyung came, "Is it true Hani? You like Jungkook?"

The sight in front of me was getting ugly. There was Hani shedding tears, and Taehyung looking downhearted. Hani finally let go of me and faced my other best friend, Kim Taehyung. "I just told you my feelings towards you yesterday. And you asked me to give you more time, but what's this?" He was clearly enraged with the series of events. "But I never accepted your confession," Hani fired back.

"Guys," I stood in between them trying to stop what was going to happen next. "Calm down, maybe we can talk about this some other time."

"Jungkook move," Taehyung gritted his teeth. He was trying to control himself.

I shook my head slowly and was about to take a step closer to him, when a shrieking sound came out of Hani's mouth. Taehyung threw a hard punch on my face and I lost my balance. I tried to get up but I was too shocked that made my knees went weak. "This friendship is over," those were the last words that I heard from Taehyung since that day.

Timeskip – Present Time

Jungkook's POV

Taehyung and I were childhood best friends, but that came to an end due to a girl. A girl whom I treated like a sister but to him, it was more than that. Ten years ago, when Hani confessed that she liked me, Taehyung happened to witness it all. He felt so rejected and it soon turned into anger. He was not able to control it and threw a punch on me. After that, he just walked away from the scene and I was never able to explain my side. I never liked Hani more than a best friend. I never felt the same way she felt for me.

I approached the two persons from my past. I would love to have them both back on my life, will that ever happen? As my feet led its way to them, I noticed how his hands travelled through Y/N's waist. He was looking at her lovingly. The happiness that I was feeling awhile ago was soon replaced by jealousy. I clenched my fists and spoke under my breath, "Kim Taehyung." His eyes met mine. "It has been a while."

"Jeon Jungkook?" He looked so confused. "Yes, Taehyung. It's me," I smirked.

"What's going on here?" Y/N turned to face me. This time, both of them looked so confused. "Is there a problem Jungkook?" She asked again.

"There is," I scoffed. "I don't want you with him," I pointed to Taehyung.

"That's not possible. He's my boss, and who are you to tell me what to do?" She glared at me.
