You awoke with a start, a jolt of fear coursing through your veins as you scanned the room. Your gaze snapped to the clock, 6:36 a.m. flashing in neon letters, a reminder that it was still too early to make sense of the events of the night before.
Your mind raced as you considered the possibilities of how you had gotten home and how you were supposed to make it to work on time. With a groan, you reluctantly dragged yourself out of bed and into the shower, still trying to make sense of the night before.
After your shower, you put on your hair and cosmetics, feeling slightly more awake and ready to face the day. You made your way into the kitchen to cook up some eggs for breakfast when you were suddenly seized from behind with a force that felt like lightning. You gasped for air and attempted to pry the assailant's grip from your neck, only to be met with a sinister chuckle. "Remember last night?" the stranger whispered in your ear, the coldness of his breath sending a chill down your spine.
You opened your eyes, incredulous that you were still alive after the encounter with him the previous night. His breath tickled your ear as he spoke, "I can hear your thoughts, darling. Now can you please be quiet for a moment; I need you to do something for me."
Before you could finish, he grabbed you by the shoulders and flung you against the wall, his cold fingers pressing into your skin. You whimpered in pain as you felt the sharp sting of his teeth sink into your neck. He let go and you crumpled to the ground, aching from the impact. His voice was low and menacing as he spoke again, "You do what I tell you to do, you tell them you don't know anything, and you go home that night. If you don't, I'll come back and make sure you regret it." You lay there, helpless and scared, as he stalked out of the room, leaving you trembling with fear.
"Mrs. Y/n? We're from the SeokNews, and we'd like to ask you some questions regarding the café incident last night," someone said outside your door, and you turned around with tears in your eyes to see them already there in your living room, watching you.
You opened your door with your small trembling legs and found the entire news crew outside with their large microphones.
"Hello! My name is Kim Yerin, and I'm the owner and news reporter of SeokNews. Last night, a person went missing who was one of your coworkers." Your eyes instantly welled up with tears, and your body shook as you tried to keep it together.
"Mrs. Y/n, I understand this is a difficult time for you, but can you tell us about the incident that happened last night?" You paused for a moment, trying to regain your composure. You could feel the tears streaming down your face as you looked up at the news crew with sorrowful eyes.
"So did you know anything about the missing persons in this city?" you shook your head nervously, biting your lip as you looked back inside, he was watching you.
Your body trembled as you nervously shook your head in response to the inquiry. You felt your lip quiver as you bit it, then you glanced back inside with a fearful gaze, as if you were being watched. "I—I left earlier than her," you stammered, your voice quavering in fear. "She told me to be safe so I went home then slept," you added, your words laced with apprehension. The officers nodded, jotting down the details of your statement with meticulous precision. "So did you know anything about the missing persons in this city?" the officer repeated, his gaze fixed on you. You swallowed hard, then once again shook your head nervously, biting your lip as you looked back inside, an atmosphere of dread enveloping you.
"All right, Mrs.Y/n, thank you for your time, we'll take our leave," you said, nodding and smiling as you closed the door.
He softly whispered "make me breakfast" as he sauntered over to the kitchen table, his hands deep in his pockets. You quickly began to prepare the ingredients for a mouth-watering breakfast for two. You deftly grabbed the pan and grabbed the eggs, cracking them into the hot pan as you expertly stirred and flipped the sizzling batter. As the aroma of the freshly cooked breakfast filled the room, you were reminded of the love and warmth that you shared.
"I'm jungkook," you glanced up and found him gazing at you, "y/n," you replied as you finished cooking and handed it over to him, "may I ask a question—"
"Go ahead and speed up,"
"Did you happen to be the one who—"
"Yes, what else?"
"Are you the one who is devouring people—"
"That was my father, now shut up and eat"
Your head bobbed up and down in a quick nod, your body trembling uncontrollably out of fear. You hesitantly finished your meal, your hands shaking as you picked up your plate and chucked it into the sink. When you spun your head around, his presence had vanished as if it had never been there. You walked out the front door of your house and instantly regretted going to the river.
"Hey Cath, I'm freaking afraid," you say as you hail a cab.
Time skipped
"I know, I know, he's at my house this morning and—and I don't know what to do help," you pleaded, his hands were huge enough to suffocate your small neck.
"I'm sorry y/n, but I can't," cath sighed, "I don't want to become involved in your nonsense."
She cautiously asked, "But is he really there?" and you quickly bobbed your head in affirmation. A faint smile graced her features, and she tenderly patted your back. "I'm sorry y/n," she murmured, her voice quivering, "but if you proceed, please be vigilant and cautious. I—I can't guarantee your safety, and if something should happen, if you should...perish, I'm sorry, I simply can't help you," she choked out, as a stream of tears cascaded down her face.
You plead, "Please, Cath, don't let me die!" Your heart pounds in your chest, and your vision blurs from the heat radiating from your body. You turn around to see him standing there, a menacing smirk on his face, and you clutch at Cath, stammering, "C—Cath, h—he's here!" She stares at you, then at him, confusion and fear flashing in her eyes, and she slowly removes your hands from her arms, asking in a trembling voice, "Y/N, what do you mean?"
"Please help, I don't want to die," you begged as you firmly embraced her; "y/n, let go of me!!" she screamed as she tried to free herself from your hold on her body.
"She can't fucking me see sweetheart, she's fucking blind," he muttered, and cath was pushed away from you and to the ceiling in a matter of seconds. "H—help me y/n!!" she shouted in anguish.
"I can't!" you said angrily, "stop it!"
"Shall we make a fucking deal?" you agreed, you didn't want your closest friend to suffer because of you; she was there when your father mistreated you, she was there when your mother and brother died, what the hell did you do? Why did you look in the first place?
"If you don't do as I say, you owe your fucking life to me"
You nodded as you knelt, pleading with him not to injure her, "please, she is all I have," you begged, he laughed, and the coffee shop began to move at a breakneck rate, spilling cups all over the place. Everything begins to break, and all of the dishes and ingredients begin to flow all over the place.
"S—stop it!!!" you screamed, looking at your best friend, who was now completely silent, her eyes glowing white as her mouth opened and black insects began to crawl out.
"You do what I say!!!" he yelled as he stood up and extended his two hands to his sides.
"Y—yes!!" you said as you covered your ears, closing your eyes and hugging your knees, hearing the black orchestra once more. It fell silent all of a sudden.
