Chapter 3

JUNGKOOK'S POV

"So how's the earth? unclean humans?" Taehyung questioned, as I groaned and shook my head after that occurrence.

"Uhm yeah," I replied as I took a drink of water to settle down my voice, "but I just noticed something intriguing," I continued as I sat in a neighboring chair.

Despite what I did just a few minutes ago, I left Earth and it was quite exhausting.

"interesting? Let me guess, another animal you saw?" taehyung said, his expression blank. "jungkook, the last time you spotted a fucking rabbit, you grabbed it up and chose to put it here on hell to be your pet."

"I know Hyung, but it's a human being," he said, his eyes widening as he approached me. "And what about it?" he said.

"You realize our duties are to murder women?" he asked, nodding. "They have to be terrified of us, right? Because we kill them?"

"Well, I was by the river where my father died and I sensed a presence of a person," I explained as I groaned.

As my emotions rose, it felt like time had stopped. I was intensely aware of the girl's inquisitive gaze, her eyes roaming around the room, taking in its every detail. My chest tightened with a mix of trepidation and admiration as I watched her take in the scene. I felt my eyes grow red as I recalled the fateful day when my mother had caused my father's death. I could feel Taehyung's gaze on me, but I refused to look up as I allowed my emotions to take over.

I heaved a heavy sigh as I reached for another bandage to wrap securely around my aching neck. The painful memory of the events that occurred still lingered in my mind, and yet, despite the risk, I couldn't help but to be irresistibly drawn to find out more. My curiosity had been driving me forward for years, and now, I had finally reached a point where I felt ready to search.

My trembling fingers deftly opened my laptop and I typed in the words 'the devil devouring humanity', and watched as a plethora of results populated the screen.

I chose one and was sent to a dark website.

The small village outside of Glavandore, known as 'the Enchanted of the River', had been home to creatures of all shapes and sizes for centuries. However, its peace was shattered when humans, driven by avarice and ambition, invaded the village in 1567 and transformed it into an amusement park to entertain their own kind.

The animals, seething with fury, conjured up a powerful deity, Jeon Jivello, to punish those who had wronged them and erected an unbreakable barrier around the settlement, trapping its inhabitants in a relentless prison of their own making.

To the creatures' surprise, Jeon Jivello found himself strangely attracted to a human woman and, despite the gods' wrath, chose to stay by her side and co-rule the village. Now, the two of them are expecting a child, and the village is still ensconced in the magical orb, with no way out for its inhabitants.

They lived blissfully after the girl gave birth until the locals decided to hypnotize the girl and kill Jeon Jivello when he slept. Everything fell silent as the deity opened his eyes, got to his feet, and stared at his wife. His tears started to fall until an orchestra began to play, a dark symphony, and everyone in the city awoke from their slumber due to the volume of the orchestra. The settlement was encircled by police, and the devil god shouted loudly as he grew trees around the village that were taller than the city's dwellings. 

The god seized all of the residents of the hamlet, opened his mouth and ate them all, the police opened all of their firearms and shot at different targets, but in the end, the bullets returned to their bodies, killing them. The god grabbed his son and ran to the river, his blood dripping from his body, he grew wings and left his wife cold, she didn't know what to do, she screamed in pain as she grew larger and larger, she cried as she looked at the river where his husband had left him, she ran and ran until she reached the river, she walked until she couldn't anymore, she whimpered as she sat at the edge until she couldn't take it and became a stone 

I released a heavy sigh, feeling the weight of my near miss. I reached for the papers I had been handed, eagerly scanning them for the answer I had been seeking. A wave of awe washed over me as I noticed that the name of the river had been subtly changed, a feat so remarkable it filled me with admiration.

I slowly rose out of my chair, my weary eyes blinking with exhaustion. As I stood, something seemed to be lurking, its gaze fixed on me. Taking a moment to compose myself, I felt a chill run down my spine as I registered the unnerving presence. I knew I had to sleep, yet I couldn't help but feel a sense of dread. I cautiously stepped away, careful not to break the silence, until eventually I escaped the gaze.

"Are you alright?" I asked, rising to my feet and gently caressing his arm. His eyes, soft and inviting, locked on mine, and he firmly, yet tenderly, tugged my hand away from him.

"Go prepare some cold water, I'm thirsty," I nodded and went to get some water for him.

"Who the heck is she?" someone said as I walked away.

Jungkook's voice echoed through the alleyway as he angrily bellowed, "Can you please STOP this HORRENDOUS stalking?!" His tone was filled with a mix of desperation and rage, and I could feel the cold steel of a knife pressed against my neck. Unnerved, I glanced up to see a woman with vivid green eyes, ruby-red lips, and jet-black hair looming over me.

I couldn't move because I was afraid, so I looked at Jungkook and saw him rolling his eyes.

My heart raced as I whimpered a desperate plea to the woman before me, "Please don't hurt me!" Her lips curved into a sinister smirk and I shuddered as she menacingly hissed in my ear, "Quiet now sweetheart," while her fingers tightened their grip around my locks.

"Jessi, drop her right now," jungkook yelled, glaring at her. "Why? Is she your fucking girlfriend?"

"You do know your Mom and Dad didnt work out right?"

"Don't you fucking dare put my mother and father in your fucking mouth!" said Jungkook while yanking Jessi and twisting her neck with both hands, producing a cracking sound.

He huffed and glared angrily at me; he didn't say anything that day and walked away.
