Something Dark

I see Jake and Hunter everywhere now. The hallway, lunch room. It's even more weird going to English class because I now have nothing to him about. I sit silently like I always have my whole life to avoid people that could hurt me. Like Blake.

The bell rings telling me it's time to go home. I'm so tired I pass out on the bus with my headphones in my ears and music on full blast to drown out the loud chatter of the kids on the bus.

I am later awoken by one of the kids that ride the bus, "hey, it's your stop."

"Thanks," I mumble as I start to gather my back pack.

I walk down the steps into the blazing heat of the Idaho desert and start the long walk down our driveway.

Three minutes later I enter our cool house. "Hello darling, how was school?" The same question rings out from my mothers mouth as I enter our house each Monday's through Friday. And always the same reply, "good, thank you."

"I'm going to take a nap, I'm really exhausted today."

"Ok sweetie pie."

I run up the stairs faster at the thought of slipping into the covers of my queen bed.

As soon as my head hits the pillow I start dreaming.

I'm taken to my favorite place. My sweet foggy world. The only place where I can escape everything.

But something seems off today.

Goose bumps run down my spine, as fear seeps deep in my bone. All the blood in me freezes as I feel a touch of a hand behind my neck.

All of my hair rises on the back of my neck because I know who it is. I would never forget the way his hands feel on my body.

Both pleasure and fear.

I know I shouldn't be scared it's only a dream right? Nothing can hurt me. Or can it? I don't know the rules of this strange place that feels so real.

"Hello Azaria, remember me?"

Oh I remember everything about him. The way his blue eyes shine with something dark. The way he kissed me like there was nothing else in the world but me. Making me believe every lying word he said.

I felt like throwing up. The only place that I could be safe in was now not as safe as I thought it was.

I turn around slowly and gasp.

What I see before me is something out of this world completely.

He stands there with large black wings as if they are burnt and torn. All black clothes and black mist surrounds him.

My Keens buckle and I faint.
