They say the depths of the sea held treasure, but danger as well. That is how it usually is. Gold beyond comparison, guarded jealously by limbless, wide-eyed and scaly creatures the likes of which could be seen in Lovecraftian Horror.
The fearless captain eyed the choppy waves and the monsters below and out of sight. Then considered the treasure.
Was this worth it?
Was losing crew worth some arbitrary gold?
Was there any way out of this mess?
And so, taking a deep breath, the captain of the ship jumped into the jaws of the sea-
"Isn't that a little too dramatic?"
"Shut up, it's tension that will lead up to the epic boss fight between the heartless monsters and their leader."
"I still think we're hurting Mister Blinky's feelings. He and his family aren't that mean."
"They're goldfish I think they don't care."
"..."
"Okay look, how about this; they're actually mermaids cursed to be ugly-looking?"
"And?"
"And, uh- they're guarding a magic sphere which is actually the baby egg? Pleasedon'tbemadme."
"Thank you!"
"Can't believe I love you."
The end.
