Bakugou doesn't know how it happened but, somehow, after months of you moving in, it was now routine for you to be spending Sunday nights over at his apartment with Katsumi. He would be responsible for cooking dinner as you had your little play date with his daughter and, to compensate for not helping out, you would have dessert pre-made and ready to be had after the main meal every time you come knocking at 6pm exactly. It needed some getting used to but Bakugou quickly grew accustomed to your company; you've done a lot for his daughter and for him as well, without even knowing it - you've become the first person he reaches out to when work calls him for patrol or for a high-risk attack and Katsumi doesn't have anyone to look after her.
After seeing how well you handle his daughter, Bakugou is always assured that Katsumi will be well taken care of should he have to leave her under your care. It's comforting to have someone as reliable as you around his most precious and treasured daughter.
Over time, the two of you built a good dynamic, working together to entertain Katsumi but also help her build good coping mechanisms whenever arguments happen; you never want her run-away attempt happening ever again. Bakugou wasn't a good example for that, clearly, as he was never taught how to properly handle his temper, instead, you have to step in to defuse the situation on both sides. Ultimately, you end up teaching both father and daughter how to talk things out and work through things together.
There was one misunderstanding that you remember clearly, where a joke went too far. Bakugou insisted on calling Katsumi 'cherry-face' when she had gotten so angry and red in the cheeks after losing a race in mario kart. It seemed like an innocuous enough joke to Bakugou and, even to you, until you both heard a sniffle. You never knew that such a small and soft sound could send your heart thundering within your chest. When you both faced Katsumi, she was looking at the ground with clenched fists at her sides as tears dripped from her ruby eyes.
"I-I'm not a 'cherry-face'...I h-hate daddy..." she weakly defended past her pouting and trembling lips as she feebly stomped her foot with a shake of her fists. Looking at Bakugou, he was frozen in place, unable to move with regret, guilt and self-loathing flashing across his own ruby orbs. That left you to take control of the situation. As you move to comfort Katsumi, you lightly brush a consoling hand down the prohero's arm, bringing him back to earth just in time to witness you kneel down before his daughter to bring her into your arms.
"There there, baby..." you coo softly, petting her blonde hair with one hand as the other holds her close to you, "shhh..." you settle her sniffles, pulling away after a while to wipe away her tears and snot with the hem of your shirt, "now I know you don't really mean that," she says nothing, "you love daddy very much, don't you?" you ask, loud enough for even Bakugou to hear. Katsumi nods and presses her face into your neck, mumbling something into your collarbone, "what was that dear? Speak clearly, now..."
