This chapter is dedicated to my kid sister, she's been the only one helping me to type because it has been hectic on me.

Chapter 6: First Day at School

Morning came faster than expected.

I had a really long and stressed day previously.

I would have gone for jogging but time wasn't by my side, it was rather against me.

I quickly grabbed my towel, soap dish, toothbrush, toothpaste, full of energy I walked to the bathroom and did the necessities.

I wore my clothes, taking all I would need for the rest of the day in my backpack and briskly walked out of the room bidding my roommates who were still waking bye.

I hastily rushed to class only to find out that no one was teaching and the students were in chaos.

I didn't know if I should go out to find something to eat, but what if a teacher walks in after I've left, that really wasn't a good idea, I would rather stay, my stomach rumbled that instant, I was so famished.

I looked around but didn't get a glimpse of anyone I knew or have seen anywhere.

Ever since I arrived, I've greeted and been greeted by strange faces. Others really got along really well but in my case, it was totally different. I wasn't the type to talk first or keep the conversation going neither was Grey.

If I was wrong then I would have seen him once or twice with random people. But no, he was alone.

Apparently, Grey was the only one I knew.

I felt a tap behind my back, I didn't bother to look behind to know who it was, by the way, why won't the person come to face me.

Afterall, they were a lot of students gallivanting about the classroom since it was a free period. It would be weird to ask who tapped since someone might have mistakenly done so.

The tap came again, this time, I knew it was deliberate.

But why on Earth will this tapper tap behind?
I turned to see Grey.

"Heyy" He managed to say.

"Hey" I replied with a smile and probing eyes.

"I just thought we would go out to get some air" he said holding a gaze to dictate my expression.

"Sure we should" I responded, shortly  we headed out to the balcony.

"There's no difference between staying in class and staying here at the balcony, maybe, we should go down there _I added pointing out to somewhere downstairs with trees and seats surrounding them.

"Wow it would be cool and much better there, I agree _ he adopted.

We were down there in minutes, I sat at one edge, hoping to see Grey at the other end but to my greatest dismay, he sat just about 2m close.

I clearly didn't see that coming, not from Grey Wilson wh...

"So hey, how has it been with you since the other day.

Grey cut, pausing my thoughts .

"Hmm not so good, not as perfect as home would be but am still glad I'm here.

I answered swinging my legs to and fro that couldn't touch the ground from where I sat.

"For me, it's been amazing, I'm really getting to know more people and making new friends.

Grey added jerking forward.

"You are " I asked inquisitively.

"Sure" Grey returned with a surprise look .

"It doesn't like it " I said rolling my eyes.

Maybe you still see me from the perspective I made people at home see me for, because honestly I...

The bell rang, that was unmistakenly, a sign of teaching commencement.

We both returned to the class only to meet students struggling for their seats, pushing others in the process and constituting noise.

A fair, tall, lanky, stern looking, grey bearded man walked in .
He wore black baggy trousers, an oversized white T - shirt with a black belt around his waist matched with a pair of shoes that seemed like what he wore on daily basis.

No doubt that would be the school principal from all indications.

"That's the school principal every body murmured.

As soon as this man strode into the class and stood at the center, everywhere became calm, and everyone starred continuously in a bid to hear everything he had to say to us.

Some students already had their notebook on their desks and a pen at hand ready to
write.

Yes I was some students.

The man didn't speak immediately as he seemed lost.

If it were easy for him, he would strode out the same way he strode in without saying a word, too bad, he already got everyone's attention and eyes on him.

Em uhm, Good morning students.

He said with a forceful smile.

Good morning sir
We chorused.

Uhm sorry for walking into you class, I was just thinking maybe your school would need a gate man.

He said fidgeting and his eyes moving from one place to another in search of responses.

"But maybe you could show me your Principal's office". He defended.

The whole class roared in laughter, though that wasn't the right thing to do anyway because from the look on the man's face, he really needed the damn job. But what else would students of my age do if not to laugh at our ignorance.

Shortly the real principal walked in.

I said so because he had a cain in his hand, but unlike the mean face I expected, he wore a smile, maybe to look nice since we were new.

The other man stepped aside as the principal addressed us.

The principal's session was slightly longer, of course each and everyone one of us had either a question or contribution.

Looking sideways, His eyes caught that of a neatly dressed gentleman who smiled and greeted with a wave of his right hand.

"Your English teacher is here, so I would take my leave, you can ask your questions on our next meeting.

He added while leaving the class for the English teacher to take over while he moved out to join the other man.

The English class was quit interacting as we chatted strictly on everything we were thought before high School.

The bell rang again, this time, it was school over.

Everyone seemed excited as we jogged down the stairs and back to our respective dormitories.
