Secrets Spoiled?

  "What is Harley even hiding from me?" Thought Harith while walking down the hallway.  "Harith?"  Harith turned to see Ms. Eudora.  "Ms. Eudora! Is there something wrong?" Asked Harith.  "I just noticed that you're a little bit upset, I really don't wanna be nosy but, I just wanted to know if you're okay?" Answered Ms. Eudora.  Harith didn't really want to get Ms. Eudora involved in his issues with Harley, but he needed help from someone rather than Nana and Lylia.
"I actually have some problems with Harley right now, he really seems to avoid me and he isn't really close to like before, it's like made a barrier between us two." Explained Harith.  Ms. Eudora's face suddenly frowned and became silent.  Harith noticed it, and he was confused so he he asked, "Is everything okay Ms. Eudora?"  The woman looked at Harith and told him to meet her in her office after school immediately, she was going to tell him something important.  Harith was still confused, but he thought that maybe he'll understand what's going on if he'll meet up with Ms. Eudora at her office later.  So Harith nodded in agreement and the teacher left him and went to the next classroom she was going to teach, and Harith went to his room as well.

  "What were you going to tell me Ms. Eudora?" Asked Harith as he sat down on a chair in front of the teacher's desk.  Ms. Eudora was silent at first, but then she sighed deeply and faced Harith.  "I know something about why Harley treats you that way..."  Harith's eyes widened, "You do?!" He exclaimed.  "Yes," replied Ms. Eudora,"I do, but I don't want you to tell anyone else, it's just between you and me, understand?"  The leonin nodded and prepared to listen.  "Well, you see Harith," explained Ms. Eudora, "two years ago, I visited the Vance mansion before, and I saw Harley there, he wasn't really much looking happy.  As his teacher, I decided to ask him what's wrong, but to be honest, he didn't tell me anything, he just smiled at me and said he was just thinking about the upcoming exams that week.  I thought that it was normal to be a little nervous when exams are coming, so I just left him alone, not knowing the truth.  After a few days, I noticed that he was starting to become pale, I got worried and decided to ask him what's wrong again, but he still wouldn't tell me, he just said he's stressed because he lost something he borrowed from his mom, and again he smiled.  I knew that Harley was already lying to me, it was pretty obvious for me, so I decided to visit the Vance mansion once more and observe him.  I wanted to help Harley, so I did my best not to be suspicious of observing him around the house.  At first, everything was a bit normal, so I thought that all my suspicions were wrong, but I accidentally saw a door that wasn't fully closed, there was a small gap, and I decided to peek what was inside, and I was very shocked when I saw Harley's mom hurting him.  She used different things to hurt him: a belt, a lead pipe, glass, and other things that could hurt the child.  Harley cried intensely and begged his mom to stop, but she really wouldn't listen, she dragged Harley to a wall and hit his head there, he was bleeding intensely already, but she wouldn't really stop.  I was so shocked that I couldn't move, I felt so hurt emotionally when I saw him like that.  Instead of stopping his mom, because I was panicking, I ran outside the house.  I breathed heavily, I felt like a hook hit my heart and was dragging it downwards.  I couldn't believe my eyes, and before I could  realize it, I started to cry.  I knew I was too old to cry, but I felt so bad to see him like that.  Suddenly, Harley's mom walked beside me and glared at me, I was somewhat frightened, but I knew I had to stay strong, so wiped away my tears and stood up.  She laughed at me and said, 'I know you saw what I did to my kid, don't even try to tell anyone else.'  I got mad, 'Why can't I tell anyone?' I asked in a stern voice.  She smiled evilly and answered, 'If you tell someone else, Harley will get even more hurt than usual.  I don't think you want that right?'  I didn't answer her for a moment, I didn't really want Harley to get hurt more badly.  So I nodded and she told me not to tell anyone what I saw and stay away from Harley as much as possible.  So I did as she told me, and I always just wished that someone could help me pull him out of that trouble, and I think you could help me with that Harith."   Harith just stared at Ms. Eudora, shocked and speechless.  "You mean, Harley was lying to me all this time that he has a great family?" Asked Harith.  "Yes Harith, I also investigated deeper about the Vance household, and I found out that Harleys father knows how his mom treats him but he doesn't care, he hurts him too if he does something wrong, his older sister Lesley knows about it too, but she also can't call for any help, she was threatened by the mom, just like me.  Harley's mom also doesn't let Harley eat most of the time, which is the reason why Harley is so weak now since he hasn't eaten for days." Replied Ms. Eudora.  "Wait, you just said earlier that if you tell someone, Harley will get even more hurt, why are you telling me now then?" Asked Harith.  "That's the reason I took you here, no one can spy us here in my office." Answered Ms. Eudora.  "Oh, okay then, but, how will we help Harley Ms. Eudora?" Asked Harith.  "We can't do anything for now, but Harley's parents are gonna attend an important conference next week, and we can make our move at that day." Replied Ms. Eudora.  "Alright, I'll go ahead now Ms. Eudora." Said Harith, and the teacher nodded, and Harith walked to the door.  "Oh by the way Ms. Eudora," added the leonin, "is it fine if I talk to Harley about this?"  "Well, somehow, just be careful that no one else hears your conversation okay?" Replied Ms. Eudora.  "Okay! Bye Ms. Eudora, see you tomorrow." Said Harith, and left the room.

  "Sigh, I hope Harith is okay, I think I was a little rude earlier." Said Harley to himself while walking in circles at the rooftop.  Just after a few minutes, he noticed Harith was also there, he was a little nervous to talk to him, he looked kinda angry, but he knew he had to apologise.  So he took a deep breath and walked towards the leonin.  "Harith," He said, "I'm sorry if I was rude earlier, I'm just preoccupied at the moment.  Harith stared at his friend, he wasn't really upset because Harley was rude earlier, he was upset because Harley lied to him a lot of times.  The mage genius saw how Harith looked at him and thought maybe he should give his friend some space, but Harith stopped Harley by gripping his hand tightly.  Harley was perplexed by the response of the leonin, and asked him, "What's wrong?"  Harith's grip got stronger and he pulled Harley closer to him, "Why Harley," Said Harith, "why did you do that to me."  Harley was confused, "What do you mean?" He asked again.  "Harley, I know you've been lying to me for a long time already, your family was never nice to you." Replied Harith.  Harley just stood there frozen, he didn't know what to do and say, he felt his whole body trembling in fear of what Harith could do, Harith is very scary whenever he's angry.  Harith saw that his friend's whole body was already shaking in fear, he hugged his friend to calm him down, "It's okay, don't be scared." Said Harith while stroking the mage genius' hair gently.  "H-harith, I'm scared, you might get into trouble..." Whispered Harley in a shaky voice.  Harith smiled and answered, "Don't worry, I'll be fine."  He hugged him tightly and didn't let Harley go for a few seconds, Harley blushed a little, and hugged back.  "Just promise me not to lie to me anymore okay?" Said Harith as he started to let go of his friend.  "I'll try." Answered Harley.  " I hope..."
