New Thitipoom's POV:I have a bestfriend.
I have a bestfriend I'm acting in a series with.
I have a bestfriend I'm acting in a BL series with.
I have a bestfriend I'm acting in a BL series with as a gay couple.
This didn't sound too bad.
We were both straight men with a strong bond of friendship between us. We didn't mind skinship together and it was great for our career to be promoted as a ship. The pros outweighed the cons and neither of us had any complaints. If anything, I enjoyed spending more time with my bestfriend and becoming closer to him.
Everything was fine.
Everything was fine until he asked me to practice some lines with him.
Everything was fine until he asked me to practice some lines with him, including the kissing scenes.
Everything was fine until he asked me to practice some lines with him, including the kissing scenes, and I agreed.
...
Originally, we were casted as a minor side couple in Kiss the series by GMMTV. We barely had any screentime compared to the other casts and we were only required to flirt a little with each other so we accepted the job without much thought. It was all in good fun anyways....
...until we were casted for the sequel.
We were still a side couple in the story, but there were more intimate scenes in the script- such as kissing and even a few suggestive scenes. Nothing too obscene fortunately, but it still required us to be rather intimate.
This was all still fine to me actually. I was an actor with a professional mindset. I was fine with kiss scenes and I didn't mind the gender. Work was work. It was better that it was Tay, someone I knew and was close to, as compared to a complete stranger.
I was indeed a little afraid the dynamics between us would change, but I felt relieved when things stayed the same even after our workshops and filming the first kiss scene.
It was an accidental kiss whereby our lips crash against each other when we fall.
I found out only after that I had in fact taken my bestfriend's very first kiss.
I was surprised, but at the same time, I felt a foreign feeling bubble from within. For some reason, my body felt lighter and I was happier ever since that relevation. I even shared my food with Tay more often, feeding him even the first bites.
We grew even closer after that, but then something strange happened one day.
It was a day before the filming of our second kiss scene.
...
"Hey, tomorrow's kiss scene will be different." Tay commented.
We were both laying on my sofa at my house, with me eating my sweets and him scrolling twitter on his ipad. I hadn't noticed, but he had long placed his ipad down a while ago.
"Mm yeah. You sure you up for that?" I teased, smirking. I was just playing with him, and wanted to irk him like I usually did. But contrary to my expectations, he reacted in a way I had never expected.
"No." He answered.
I blinked at him. I didn't know if I had heard correctly.
"What?" I asked, stunned.
"I'm not prepared for tomorrow's kiss scene." He confessed.
Wow. I never expected those words to come out from his mouth. I gawked at him, unsure of what to do and say.
"Honestly, I'm not prepared too." I sighed. He looked up at me in surprise.
"That's impossible. You can pull off any character. You're good at acting and you have experience." He snorted. I rolled my eyes at him.
"Thank you, but I, too can have trouble getting into character okay. You're not the only one with worries. I'm just better at hiding them." I snapped.
His jaw dropped.
Was I too harsh? I wondered guiltily.
"And I don't have experience with you." I added.
He blinked.
"But we've already kissed." He argued.
"That doesn't count." I shook my head.
"Why does it not count? Our lips were pressed together." He furrowed his eyebrows.
"Then why are you worried? You have kissing experience now too." I countered.
"Wait... Our lips were pressed together... That's it!" Tay suddenly gasped. His eyes widened as something in his brain seemed to click together. He pondered silently for a bit, making me nervous as to what silly idea he had conjured up again.
He twiddled with his fingers, sitting up and staring straight into my eyes. Something about his gaze drew me in, and I straightened up as well.
"What if we try practicing? Like just now?" He suggested cautiously, scanning my face for my reaction.
"Practice what?" I asked slowly, trying to digest the information.
"PeteKao scenes." He answered. He looked serious.
I blinked at him.
He ran his fingers through his hair, dishelving it handsomely as he gulped nervously.
"You know how hard Pete's character is for me. I've been fretting about it for days. It's hard to act like Pete when I'm totally opposite of him in real life." He sighed.
"But you've been able to pull off his character well so far. You can do it. I know you can." I gave him a reassuring snile as I patted his back. He gave me a meaningful look before holding my hand.
"Please, hin? I'm really scared that I can't pull off Pete's character. He's just so... different from me. Look, you said you were scared too. Please, na? Practice with me?" He asked again, sincere eyes begging me to accept his request.
[You may now take a look at the cover photo and paste over Pete's lines with what Tay's saying HSHSHSH totally did not intentionally choose that super duper sweet scene with even sweeter captions.]
I blinked at him before nodding slowly.
"...just a few times." I sighed.
I mean what was the worst that could happen?
It was just practice.
