Still Holding On

Chapter 5

Today would be the first time I have seen Xavier since the split, and that was two weeks ago. I had my lawyers draw up the divorce papers. Now he is on his way to sign them and we are going to break the news to the girls.

I don't really care for him anymore so I didn't feel the need to get dressed. I had in some tights, with a glitter gold tank, and some black nike socks. My hair was wet so I just smoothed my edges and put on a headband.

I was walking downstairs as I heard him trying to unlock the front door. I walked over and opened it. He didn't even look like the man from 11years ago. He looked so rough. His beard was scruffy and his skin was not glowing. Like eww.

"My key doesn't work." He gave me a weak smile.

I opened the door a bit for him to walk in, "Yeah. I had the locks changed."

We both grew silent. Just standing there looking at each other, "So where are the girls?"

"Sleeping. I'm going to make breakfast before I wake them. Are you staying to eat?"

He nodded, "Yeah. Ima go shower and change before breakfast."

I turned and went to the kitchen and he went upstairs. It felt weird with him being in the house after everything that has happened. I brushed him off and quickly made breakfast. Bacon, Eggs, Potatoes, and Crossiants.

After that was finished I headed upstairs to wake the girls. I laughed as I opened Madison's door. Madelynn and Malone were in the bed with her. I walked over to her speakers and tuned in her iPad.

'Swish I'm balling. I'm so awesome.' I started dancing as they woke up.

"Ma you so childish." Madison got up laughing.

Madelynn started laughing, "Mama twerkin!"

"Y'all come down for breakfast please." I went back down and they girls followed.

My kids could live off of bacon and potatoes y'all no lie. They are in here going nuts. I can't even tell they just woke up fifteen minutes ago .

"Daddy!" Malone and Madelynn jumped from their chairs and ran to Julian as he came down.

He picked them up and kissed them both, "Princess!"

They walked over to the table. Madison looked briefly and looked back at me. I nodded my head and she smiled. Julian walked over and kissed her head, "Good Morning Gorgeous."

"Morning Daddy."

They all sat there and talked to Julian. They really missed their dad. I can't lie and say that I didn't because I do, but I'm not gonna keep going through what I'm going through.

"Girls we need to talk to you." I sat my cup down.

They all looked at me, "Yes mama?"

"Go ahead Julian."

He looked pissed. I couldn't even read his face he was so mad. Julian swallowed hard, "Uhhh...well girls.....I..well me and your mama."

Madison laughed, "Daddy come on!"

"I'm taking you girls to Jamaica for spring break."

I started choking in my coffee. I can't believe he just pulled that stunt. The nerve if this dude! The girls were all happy and jumping around. "Yes! I can't wait!"

I got up from the table and walked outside, "Julian! Now!"

He stood up, "Girls go upstairs and get dressed for me please."

We met up outside. As soon as the door closed I slapped the piss from his mouth, "How could you? Why?"

"They looked so happy. I didn't wanna ruin that and I don't wanna ruin us."
