Orion was the son of the lead invader of Lykosan. He didn't agree with his father's desires of ruling Lykosan. After Sugarleaf managed to trap them in the palace and establish a reign of fear, Orion left Lykosan into the surrounding forest, joining a band of rogues led by Geulimja.
He wanted to help them, but he didn't like the idea of killing Sugarleaf. After word got out that Melody, the youngest female of the invader wolves had escaped the palace, Geulimja decided that it was a good idea to strike then. Orion took the advantage of Geulimja's lack of focus on the rest of the group to slip away and search for Melody.
After he had found Melody, he formed a close bond with her during the journey back to the palace. Orion believed that if Melody married the Emperor, things would calm down between the native gold wolves and the invaders.
Orion arrived with Melody after Geulimja's attack, and Sugarleaf had an ugly scar above his right eyebrow. When Melody asked Sugarleaf for his hand in marriage, something in him snapped. He flew into a rage and killed Geulimja. After he fled the palace, Orion and Melody established peace within the kingdom. They kept the villagers calm and at peace, and ultimately helped Shadowstar rebuild Lykosan, creating the first peaceful urban territory.
