Y/n L/n knocked on the door of Tadashi's home, a bouquet of flowers held gently in his right hand, while a singular red rose was in his left.
Y/n had made sure to ask Tadashi if his mother was aware they were dating beforehand, not wanting to accidentally out his boyfriend to his family. Yamaguchi had told Y/n his parents were shocked but didn't seem upset at all, sadly for Y/n, his father was still ignoring him. But he was still happy that Yamaguchi was accepted and wouldn't have any problems at home.
The door opened to reveal two adults, who Y/n assumed was Tadashi's parents. He gave a small bow and held out the bouquet of flowers towards his boyfriends mother, "Hello, I'm Y/n L/n, Tadashi's boyfriend."
Y/n gave his best smile, but anyone could see he was struggling to do so. Luckily for Y/n, Tadashi had already warned his parents about Y/n's lack of social skills (and the fact it was hard for him to express himself clearly). They could see he was clearly trying though, which made they smile a bit.
"Thank you for taking care of our Tadashi, L/n." Tadashi's mother said politely, taking the flowers from him and motioning him in.
"Please, call me Y/n."
She smiled and nodded, turning to look at her husband with a pleasantly surprised face, Y/n was more polite than they originally expected him to be. Y/n also turned to look at Tadashi's father, hoping to see some sort of reaction, he hoped he didn't change his mind last minute and decided to hate Y/n.
"Honey, why don't you call Tadashi down? I'll keep Y/n company." He said with a smile, his wife nodded and went to get her son—who was currently stressing out on what to wear, unaware of the fact Y/n was sitting in his living room with his father.
"If you don't mind me asking, how did you and Tadashi meet?"
"We are in the same class, i didn't have any friends and Tadashi had caught my eye."
His father rose a brow, "Did he now?"
Y/n nodded, remembering the amount of times he had looked over at his seat just to admire Tadashi, his heart used to—it still does—every time he heard him laugh and joke around with his friend.
"I know it doesn't mean much coming from a child, but you guys really did do a good job raising Tadashi, he's one of the best people I've ever met."
"Thank you, Y/n. I could say the same about your parents."
Could Y/n L/n get anymore likable, Tadashi thought as he stood behind the couch silently with his mother.
You'd think this was just an act to get on his parents good side, but Tadashi knew this was really how Y/n was like. His parents raised him to be kind and up to standards for a son of very powerful parents.
