Whilst the battle on land was ongoing, the warship divisions was on high alert, waiting for the incoming threat of the opposing navy, the commanders on Hobart are also coordinating attacks on shore, however a threat now starts to unravel.
As mentioned before, the division was divided in two, the RMKN (Royal Mushroom Kingdom Navy) and SN (Stralansia Navy), which sailed from two different ports, with relatively moderate distance between them and the island, the ships have radars capable of detecting targets over 80 kilometers away, with Victory having the strongest radar with around 470km detection range, but as the ships searched the location of the port at the island en route to their designated area, they did not detect even a single ship at port, they searched to the limits of their radar but the results came back empty handed, to make matters worse the CN-235 MPA anti ship bombers went bingo fuel (low fuel) and had to return to base and wouldn't be available for some time, later the Hawk airplanes that was RTB (Returning To Base) reported that the ships were still at port, preparing to sail into the open ocean, but nothing shows up on the ship's radars, this would be a problem as the anti ship missiles uses radar to find their target, so the missile would essentially be firing blind without the use of radar, so, now they must use their more conventional onboard cannons to engage their targets, gladly, the Deutschland cruiser had the most weaponry with the most damage as well, which had undergone a modernization, fitting it a new indigenously made radar with detection range of up to 92km, but even then it can't detect anything.
After some time of sailing towards the island, the radar on Hobart class finally detected something, however the radar returns are inconsistent and inaccurate, it detected 6-11 warships on heading towards the fleet, however the radar couldn't determine the exact position of those ships and the exact amount, there's only a general area provided and a different number of ships, but nonetheless they knew something was coming for them, this finding was reported to the RMKN, RMKN then ordered Stralansia's fleet to set course for an intersection where they can put the enemy in between them and engage it from 2 sides, and considering the Hobart class's radar worked, all ships that had missiles activated their missile system, ready to fire when the opportunity showed itself.
But instead of the opportunity, 156 aircraft showed themselves.
