It's Beeping.

I was there in the void for a few days, maybe even a week.

I could hear the noise of nurses coming into the room to check-in on me every now and then.

They would whisper things into my ear that I never understood.

I never tried to listen.

I could feel the warmth of sunlight hit my cheek, perhaps a window was nearby.

The beeping never stopped.

It still hurts.

The door opened again.
It was different.

The door opened quietly, the boy almost missed the quiet footsteps moving towards him.
He heard the screech of a chair being pulled up near him.
Was there no chair nearby?
His ears hurt.

He felt something near his side.
We're they resting their head?

He could hear something.
Indistinct sniffling.

It was strange.

His eyelids fluttered as if they wanted to open.
Yet the darkness of the void kept pulling him closer to the abyss.
He felt like he needed to escape.
He didn't want to give in anymore.

He woke up.
◇─◇──◇────◇──◇─◇

The boy gazed at the ceiling for what seemed like an afterlife.
His eyes hurt.

He wanted to shut his eyes and fall back into the void yet his conscience said no.
The boy shifted his attention to the unknown person laying their head down beside his torso.
All he could see was dark purple locks of hair.
They were long and straight yet loose ends pointed outwards in a few places.

Who were they?

The unknown person's head rose from the bed.
They stared at the boy, eyes widening.

"☯✎☯⚡ღ✞ღ?"

The boy stared at the person, they were rather muscular, so he assumed they were male.

But what did he say?

A dumbfounded expression was plastered on the person's face.

"☯✎☯⚡ღ✞ღ?!"

He repeated himself. His voice sounded a bit more urgent and rushed.

The boy focused, he wanted to hear what the other was saying, even if it hurt.

"K✎kic✞i!"

"Kokic✞i!"

The other kept on repeating himself, were they trying to call the boy?

The boy took another close look at the other who continued to call.
His eyes widened.

He remembered.

It was Kaito Momota.

The beeping continued.
