Y/n's POV
I woke up expecting to be laying on my bed. Then I remembered: Emperor. I groaned and reached for my wig. The smell of pancakes filled the air. Mmmmmmm. I put the inkling hair on, my f/h on top, and put the Kensa Octobrush on my back. Just in case. You can never be too careful. I then walked out of the room and looked over Emperor's shoulder. He was making pancakes. Mmmm.
Emperor's POV
I saw Y/n look over my shoulder. I laughed and said, "You like pancakes huh?". She shook her head vigorously. Prince and Eging soon woke up and we ate then headed towards the lobby in Inkoplis Square.
I asked Y/n on the way if she ever played a turf war. She shook her head no. "How did you get the Octobrush then?" I asked. She just shrugged and said, "I don't know." I then gave her a reassuring smile and said, "Don't worry, we'll do a private battle and teach you the basics." She just looked away and said, "Okay." We were finally at the lobby and made a private battle. The stage was Moray Towers with me and Pikmin123 vs. Prince and Eging.
"Okay, you ink the ground trying to get turf," I explained. "If you see anybody from the other team, splat them quickly. Oh, and watch your special gauge meter." She headed straight toward the middle. Oh, well. I focused on inking turf first. When I got to the middle, Eging jumped in front of me. He looked very tired. "Gotta be faster then that," he said. I was out of ink! Suddenly Y/n jumped out of nowhere and quickly splatted him. I was impressed. It was her first time playing and she did pretty well.
Y/n's POV
As soon as Emperor told me the basics of turf battling that I already knew, I jumped towards the middle, barley focusing on turf. I saw Prince and splatted him. I saw Eging then went over to splat him. I spent the whole battle splatting people, but man, it was fun! Once, I even splatted Eging before he could get Emperor. He was a little tired, so it was a easy kill. In the end, I got 36 kills. I was so disappointed, assuming that normal people got more.
Emperor walked up to me, and my face burned. He said, "That was the most kills I saw in my life." I perked up. "Really? I asked. "Yeah. The Kensa Octobrush also goes well with you." Emperor replied. I smiled at him. At that moment, Prince and Eging went in, looking at the scoreboard. "Woah! Y/n, your really good! You did great on your first time playing." I beamed at their praise. "Thanks." I replied. Then all of a sudden, Emperor came up with a great idea. "Hey, Y/n, why won't you join our team? You could be a great addition." Emperor said. I gaped at him. "What? I'd love to!" I replied. I happily smiled at him. Who would've thought that I would join the team?
