Basilwether Hall
A black carriage is pulled down a long lane of the stoned mansion.
Basilwether Hall; Ancestral seat and home of: Lord Tewkesbury (Marquess of Basilwether), Sir Whimbrel Tewkesbury (His Uncle), Lady Tewkesbury (His Mother), The Dowager (His Grandmother), and their dozens of servents.
In the carriage, Y/n is dressed all in black with a long black veil covering her face.
When looking to travel incognito, it's safest to travel as a widow. People are always anxious to avoid conversations about death. Widows scare them, and there's no better disguise than fear.
Y/n lifts her black veil and practices her fake crying then looks out the carriage window, looking at the estate.
Inside, a man announces Y/n in her fake name, to the Tewkesburys. "Miss May Beatrice Posy." Y/n bows to the man and lifts up her veil.
'Tis I
"For the Lady Tewkesbury, Marchioness of Basilwether." The man leaves the room as guards behind Y/n close the big doors. She looks around and sees statues in knights armor. The butler disappears around a corner.
"What is your business here?" Sir Whimbrel asks Y/n as Lady Tewkesbury and The Dowager walk in the room.
"I'm a lady detective. I've come to offer my services." Y/n tells Sir Whimbrel.
"My sister-in-law has all the help she needs. Show her out." Sir Whimbrell tells her then the guard.
"I believe I can help you." Y/n steps towards Lady Tewkesbury.
"You are a reporter for one of those dirty newspapers." Lady Tewkesbury tells Y/n.
"I am a lady detective." Y/n tells Lady Tewkesbury and Tewkesbury gasps.
"Please leave, before we make you leave."
The butler takes Y/n away as she stop and turns around. "I work for Sherlock Holmes!" They all look at Y/n surprised as the butler takes his hand off her.
"I...I'm his assistant. He sends me ahead of time to prepare the ground."
"Sherlock Holmes is interested in our case?" Lady Tewkesbury walks towards Y/n.
"Yes."
"And he...sent along a widow to fleece his path?"
A very good issue to take. May have over thought my outfit.
"Widowhood doesn't impact on my ability to do my job. Sherlock trusts me to--" Y/n clears her throat as a man interrupts her.
"Poppycock! I'm sorry, but I've heard enough. You do not know Sherlock Holmes." The man walks out of a room and into the one everyone is in.
"Oh, Lestrade. So pleased you could make this young lady's acquaintance." Sir Whimbrell looks over at Lestrade.
"I am Lestrade of Scotland Yard, and I'm a close personal friend of Sherlock Holmes." Lestrade walks to Sir Whimbrell and The Dowager.
"So you claim. He's never mentioned him." Y/n says to Lestrade then Lady Tewkesbury.
"And you are not his assistant. He doesn't have an assistant. Sherlock Holmes always works alone."
"It appears he's changed his ways since you claim to have known him." Y/n starts to walk towards Lestrade.
"Impossible." Lestrade says to Lady Tewkesbury.
