Prologue

He's going too fast.

It's all I could think the whole ride home. I couldn't tell him this though because then he'd drive faster, just to mess with me.

I shouldn't have gone to that stupid party, but Sasha, my best friend, really wanted to go. She just broke up with her boyfriend and was begging me to go to Kyles party. God I don't even like Kyle. Why did I go to that stupid party, I asked myself over and over.

If I didn't sneak out to go, my dad wouldn't have found out, he wouldn't have shown up drunk, made a scene and humiliated me in front of everybody, and we definitely wouldn't be on the way home while he's speeding down the roads.

I could smell the whiskey from his breath all the way from the passenger seat. That stupid stupid party... it was my last thought before what happened next, and what happened next changed my life forever.

All I saw was a ginormous truck coming straight towards us. I'm only 17, I'm way too young to die, so I did what I thought was best.

In the moment it was either die by a truck or take my chances hitting a tree. I went with the ladder and the next thing I know I'm reaching over to grab the steering wheel and swerving it, driving right into a tree.

The truck barely hit us, but this wasn't even the worst part of my night... not even close.

Okay uhh hi, I just wanted to say that this is the first book I've ever written, so sorry if my grammar and spelling is bad. Also, I don't really plan the chapters ahead of time, I kinda just go with whatever as I'm writing it so sorry if some things don't match up or make sense! I'd also like to warn everybody that this is VERY CLICHE AND CRINGY SO IM SO SORRY IN ADVANCE. if you don't like cringy or cliche book, this might not be the book for you but you should try it out anyways :)) so yeah. that's my first A/N. that was fun... okay bye now!
