The rest of the testing went smoothly, and she beat the boys at almost every one. She went against Ryan for stamina and strength where they were lifting weights and doing various exercises, against Lewis for agility where they were running around a course, and against Rhys for problem solving where they figured out possible solutions to different situations.

"You seem to be almost perfect in every test. So you're a very valuable addition to our team." Rhys stated, smiling down at his paper.

"Thanks?" Charlotte was still out of breath from all the running that she had done. She knew that she was good at this stuff, she didn't need Rhys to tell her. The boys all made their way back into the house as she stayed outside to catch her breath.

"You did great." Ryan smiled, hugging her from behind. She smiled, still relieved to be reunited with him again. It felt good to let down her walls for what seemed like the first time in years. The pair stayed silent for a few minutes, looking out onto the fields again.

"We're sending you out on your first assignment today." Rhys stated, handing Charlotte a mug of coffee as she walked back inside.

"What am I doing?" She asked, sitting down at the bench to take a sip.

"You and Baz are going scavenging. There's a shop nearby that we haven't searched yet and you two are going to check it out."

Charlotte rolled her eyes and looked over at a grinning Baz. Couldn't she go with Ryan instead of him? It's like the boys are trying to force them together.

"Sounds good. Let's head off then." Baz smiled, leading a reluctant Charlotte to a room full of gear and weapons.

"Choose your weapon." He motioned to the walls of guns, tables of bats and ammo, all which they had probably collected and accumulated since this whole thing started.

After a moment of thinking, Charlotte picked up a simple pistol and a baseball bat, one of her favourite combos. A mix of shooting and whacking, which gave her a lot of satisfaction. Baz nodded in approval before grabbing a rifle and axe.

"Good choice." He smiled.

"I don't need your approval. I use what I like best." She snapped back, storming out of the room. Baz couldn't help but let out a little laugh. She was so cute when she was mad. Scary, of course, but cute.

On her way out to the Ute, Charlotte brushed past Lewis, and he took a deep breath in, her perfume filling his lungs. He was strangely attracted to her, which is unusual because her personality type didn't really fit what would usually be attractive to him. She seemed really strong and independent, which was great for her, but there was just something else about her that made him think that she was just a big softie under all that armour.

"Charlotte?" Lewis suddenly blurted, surprising himself. She turned around and looked at him, her expression unchanged. Lewis suddenly forgot what he was going to ask, and started panicking, not wanting her to think that he was weird. He acted confident and goofy on the outside but he was quite nervous on the inside.

"I uh... good luck out there."

She nodded and turned back around, not saying a word or thinking anything of it. Lewis sighed and continued walking down the hallway. He saw how Baz looked at Charlotte, but she didn't seem interested. Lewis thought that maybe he could give it a shot.

Just a short chapter so I can hopefully get back into the swing of writing. I haven't published since august and it's now October lol whoops.

Enjoy, lemme know if you think of any ideas of what can happen because I haven't got much left lol.
