Chapter 4

It's been three days since our bodies have shrunk, and there's still been no news about the men in black, "Ku, come back," I snuggle closer, Ran set up two futons for us in the spare room even though we just pushed them together and snuggled close together, "Conan-kun, Nao-chan. Time to wake up, you've got school remember!" Ran opens the door and wakes us up, "Nao wants to sleep with Conan, I'm still sleepy." I hid my head under the blankets and tucked my head under Ku's arm, "I've got to say your flabby child body isn't my favourite," I stretch upwards, Ran was already helping us make breakfast, "Well I'd say the same thing, you think I was a six year old on my chest when I sleep?" Ku puts on his glasses, "I miss the sixteen year old Ku, he was much more attractive, plus he could do a lot more," I saw him struggle to reach the door handle to even open the door, "Get on my back," Ku crouched down, I giggled and I hopped on his back as I swung the door open.

"Two times two is four! Two times three is six! Two times four is eight!" The children around us were chanting the two times tables, "Sin of twelve is point two one," I snickered to myself, the teacher gasped as she looked at me, "Haha! Two times five is ten!" I rubbed the back of my head, I turned and saw Ku snickering at me, I pouted my cheeks and flung a tiny piece of eraser at his forehead. "Shall we walk home together Conan-kun! Nao-chan!" I turned my head around and I felt Ku grab my hand tighter and started walking faster, "It's your first day, you must be scared! We will be your friends!" A girl runs over to us, "Hey! You two!" We turned around and I shivered, "Do you dare not obey Ayumi-chan?!" He shouts, I grabbed onto Ku's arm, "Everything's so much scarier when you're 45 inches," I shuddered, Ku pets my arm, "Don't be so rough Genta-kun," One of the boys say, "Shut up! You are talking rubbish Mitsuhiko!" Genta shouts, "Don't be like that Genta-kun," Ayumi tries to calm him down, "I just remembered, we have something to do. Bye bye!" Ku pulls me after him.

"Damn, looking at our situation, there's no way we're finding those men in black!" I scream into a pillow, we were at Professor Agasa's house, apparently he had some new gadgets he wanted to give us, "Be patient Nariko, if you're hasty they'll find out that you're Yuki Nariko or Kudou Shinichi they'll be in danger," Professor says, "We know," I sighed and laid my head on Ku's lap, "Not only us but the people around us would also be in danger," I felt Ku's hand rest on my waist, "Ran-kun came over today, she asked where you two were because you both weren't at school today as well. I just told her that Shinichi was on a strange case and Nariko was overseas training for gymnastics," I sat up, "I'm not that into gymnastics, I don't want to perform on the world stage." I look at him, he sighs, "Oh! I just remembered!" He handed Ku a new pair of shoes, a watch and a new bowtie, "What is this?" He asks, "These shoes will stimulate your feet and leg muscles so you'll be able to kick like your sixteen year old body again and this bowtie can change your voice, it can do female or male voices, just change the dial and frequency. The watch is a tranquilliser, flip the cap up, aim and fire," Professor explains, "Sorry Nariko, I couldn't think of anything for you, if you want I could make something you need?" He looks at me, I shake my head, "It's fine. Besides, if I ever do go to a crime scene, it sounds petty but I freeze up and I can't really do much expect whine like a dog, sit in a corner and cry." I look at the floor, "There's no need to feel petty about that. No child should ever have to see what Shinichi sees everyday, that boy's a maniac." Professor pats my back, I smile, "Thank you Professor Agasa," I bowed. Ku and I headed back to Ran's house, "Hey Yuki," I looked up at Ku, I hummed, "Don't ever feel like you're not doing anything on the cases. I get it, I probably shouldn't be taking you with me to all these places filled with blood but I can't bear leaving you behind alone, what if someone finds you like the men in black? I'd never forgive myself if something happened to you. The only reason you shrunk is because I let you follow me, sure it might be stupid to continue to let you follow me but I can't let you go. I don't care if you cling to my arm, I don't care if you sit in the corner, as long as you're with me and I know that you're safe, that's what I care about. So I'm asking you you please cling onto my arm, to hold me when you're scared, cry on me, if it makes you feel safe." He holds my cheek, "Ku..." I felt tears well up, "Thank you! Thank you, thank you, thank you." I grip on his jacket and cry on his shoulder, I felt him hug me, "I love you Yuki." He whispers.
