Chapter 8

"You finally showed up Yaiba! Now I'm going to send you to hell!" There were kids cheering everywhere, "I, Yaiba am going to maintain peace on Earth!" Yaiba showed up, "Yaiba!" Ayumi cheered, "Get him from all sides!" Genta shouts, "Go for the Yaiba kick!" Mitsuhiko shouts, "YAIBA! KICK!" He kicks the villains, "We're high schoolers, why are we here?" Ku had his arm draped over me, I shrugged, "They pulled us along and I feel bad just leaving them in the dust even if they are kids," I sighed, "Conan, Nao, do you hate Yaiba?" Ayumi comes over to us, "Ah, no! I love it! Go Yaiba Go!" Ku cheered and quickly snatched his arm back, "What's this! A young girl's been kidnapped, never fear, Yaiba will save you!" I was taken from the crowd, "K-KU!" I screamed, "YUKI!" Ku tried to grab me but they swept me up on stage, all the kids jealous of me but I couldn't care less, "Oh no... save me Yaiba..." I waved my hands and pretended to need saving, "I got you now!" One of the villains leapt at me, I did a back walkover, "Baka, baka!" I pulled on my eye and stuck my tongue out, this is ten times more fun, "Missed me!" I slid under his legs and did a punch up to get back on my feet, "What the hell is this kid?" I heard Yaiba curse under his breath, "Nani? Yaiba? Did Yaiba just curse?" I snicker, "You brat!" He ran after me, I did a one and a half axel and landed on his back, "It ends here!" I did a standing back tuck and landed on his back again, making him fall over, "Baka-san." I grinned at all the actors, they grit their teeth at me and I jumped off the stage, all the kids hoisted me up and cheered for what they thought was acting, I laughed, "I swear, gymnastics." Ku shakes his head and chuckles.

"Okay, I'm going to take a picture!" We all got autographs of Yaiba and we were getting ready to take a picture, he lifted Ayumi up, "What about me Yaiba?" I say cutely, "You're a troublemaker," He wags his finger, I stuck my tongue out, "Aaah this is so fun. I swear just seeing you mock them is a hundred times more fun than this," Ku had that face, I laughed. "Thank you for coming today, we appreciate your visit very much." We heard the announcement as the department store was about to close, "Thank you very much, please come back next time." The elevator lady bows to us, "Bye bye!" We all wave to her. 

"Yaiba! Yaiba the defender of peace!" The three of they kept singing, "Ah!! It's not here! My Yaiba badge is missing!" Genta looks through his bag and pats himself down, "What? Did you lose the badge Yaiba gave you?" Mitsuhiko asks, "I was thinking about keeping it as a prized possession forever," He starts to tear up, "Hmmm... hold on, when you took that picture with Yaiba you were at..." Mitsuhiko touches his chin, "Yare, yare, Ayumi-chan can I have a look at the picture?" Ku holds his hand out, she passes it to him, "At that moment Genta said he was hungry." He looked at the picture and Genta was holding a hot dog, "Oh yeah. At that time I bought a hot dog. I'm going back, it must be in that store, I'm getting it back!" He turns around, "But the store is already closed for the day, how about leaving it 'till tomorrow?" I offer, "You only think about yourself, I'm going to get it." He scoffs, "Yuki's a very generous person!" Ku stands up, "Ku," I look at him, "Now that you mention it. Why do you always call Nao Yuki and why do you always call Conan Ku? Wouldn't it make more sense to call him Co?" Ayumi looks at us, we both shivered. Crap, I called him by his nickname reflexively! "Oh Ayumi-chan... ah... Genta-kun's running off, we should run after him!" I point at him as he runs off, "Oh! Genta-kun!" Ayumi runs off, "Wait for us!" Mitsuhiko runs after her, we both sigh in relief, "Conan, Conan, Conan." I repeat a new times, "Nao, Nao, Nao." I heard Ku doing the same thing, "We can only call each other Ku and Yuki when we're together," Ku holds my hands, I nod.

"Please hurry up, you only have ten minutes before the security system is activated," We saw a security guard standing by the door and called inside, "Genta-kun, if the security system is activated the doors will be locked." Mitsuhiko explains, "Hmph, ten minutes will be enough time for me to get it." Genta runs in behind the security guard, Ayumi and Mitsuhiko run after him, "Imbeciles,"  Ku grabs my hand and runs after them. "That was close," Ku and I shuddered as we turned the corner, "Yeah! This is the one! My prized possession!" Genta grabbed his autograph, "And it's all thanks to Conan's deduction skills!" Ayumi smiles at him, "It's nothing," He rubs the back of his head, "Ah, we need to hurry back before security systems locks us in!" Mitsuhiko reminds us, we got into the elevator and went back to ground floor, we ran to the door but it was too late, the shutters slid down and we hit the glass door with a smack, "No!" We sighed, the lights started turning off, "K-Conan." I caught myself slipping, I felt him hold me tight, he knows I'm afraid of the dark, "What do we do know?" Genta asks, "Let's go to the security office and explain our reason." Ku points his finger, we looked at the store directory "Oh there it is, the basement level one." I point, we went down, Ku kept a tight grip on me the entire time, we walked to the security office, "Ah! Yai-" Ayumi says outloud, I smack my hand over her mouth, "A R-Robbery gang," Ku gasped, they discussed their plans for going to the jewellery levels, they bound the security guards with rope so they couldn't escape or report. "It'll be bad if we're discovered." Mitsuhiko shuddered, "We're going to get killed, so let's get out of here quickly." Genta shakes, "But the elevator lady." Ayumi saw her also bound up, "Ok, let's call the police quietly so we're not noticed." Ku tells us, we nod.
