Mary

I can't remember much of my life before. I remember a few classy balls here and there, nights of dancing with strangers, drinking with the other nobles, but that's all I've got. I don't believe that I'm truly dead; such a thing could never happen to me.

Perhaps I deserve it if I am truly dead. There were moments in my life where I could've been kinder, softer... yet I wasn't.

I'm alone. There's this urge to dance, to laugh with friends, to do something other than sit still. At that thought I begin to dance humming an old familiar tune. This doesn't go on for long.

A door shuts, I quickly glance up. My face flushes. no one saw, Right?

Michiko

Envious. Envious of that woman's charm. How ridiculous I've become. It's not really fair, someone cruel and unforgiving can also be so delicate and breathtaking. She'll never know I was here and that's for the best, just leave things as they are.

Seeing her like that made my heart race, just for a moment. A moment of weakness that's all it was, besides her dancing is all she has, her attitude is too much to deal with. So it's an even balance overall.

I've seen enough, I need to go back to my room. I need time to prepare for tomorrow, what with this supposed game starting. Everyone else seems to have their mind on the prize but what would I gain from this? Answers? A way out of this hell? I'm not sure.

Though what I don't expect is what I come back to.

A small package by my door.

Once opened it reveals a fan
~the next day~

I arose from my sleep not feeling sad or unamused rather I felt happiness, I felt ok again. It's been awhile since I've felt this way, although I can never forget miles I realized if he knew he would've wanted me to move on I'm sure he wouldn't want me sad. I did my makeup different today, also put on a new outfit. I grabbed my fan and went down stairs I as per usual wished everyone good luck with a bright smile on my face. That's when I seen Robbie he looked a little discouraged so I said "Robbie you can do it I know you can!!!" He then said "thank you michiko!" And he smiled while skipping his way out to his match.

On my way out I ran into Mary, I smiled at her and said "good luck today Mary!" She was confused as to why I changed my look up but she didn't say much all she said was "Don't forget I may have begged you to forget what you saw yesterday but it's still Queen Mary to you." I just stared at her, I could tell I was making a face of confusion because Mary chuckled and said "you know that face isn't too fitting for you." And I then said "oh sorry Queen Mary my bad." And before parting our ways she said "good luck to you too michiko."
