Chapter 6 - Meetings & Greetings pt. 2
That voice sounds awfully familiar. Really it's like I know the voice. Who is it though?
"Who was that?" I ask Mathew while pointing at the living room door
"That's just my son I'll be right back," He gave me a small smile before going outside and down the hall to the front door where the voice came from.
"Son?!" I ask-scream/whisper to my mom and "You never told me he had a son, mom!"
"Oh I didn't?" She tilts her head. I nod as if saying 'duh'. "Oh sorry, do you want me to tell you about him now?" She smiles apologetically.
I roll my eye "Are you seriously asking me that?" I give her a flat look and she shrugs "how can you talk so much about Andrew and not remember he had a son?" I laughed at her while she blushes.
"Shut it," She rolled her eyes "Anyways, he goes to your school," Oh maybe that's why I thought the voice was familiar. He must've been my partner in something. I tend to forget stuff.
"He is your age and in your grade also. There's a possibility you know him. I've met him once but we didn't get to talk much because he had somewhere to go." She explains.
"Oh okay. What's his name?"
"His name-" My mom was cut off my the living room door opening revealing Mathew.
"Sorry about him. He forgot that you were coming, He thought it was next Friday you were coming." Mathew explained.
"Oh. Uh, where is he?" I asked, trying to look behind him, finding nothing but a door. I really want to meet this kid. I mean, Like my mom said, There is a possibly that I know him. I seriously want to meet him. I see how my mom and Andrew look at each other, they're very much in love and I might as well get a long with whoever is his son.
"Oh he just came from his friend's house so he's taking a bath, He's quite sweaty," he softly chuckled. "But he will be down in a few minutes," I nodded and we started another conversation, mostly Mathew and my mom.
Mathew is a really cool guy, he told me a lot of stories he and his son did over the years, A lot about what he has done with his friends. And at a point I was teaching him how to dance the Macarena, it was funny how he tried to do it. I think my mom almost peed herself while looking at him. Me too, I won't dare say it though, my mom was screaming it across the room while she laughed rolling on the floor.
God I already love this guy.
"Okay Okay that's enough embarrassing myself," He chuckled and I laughed once again before we heard a door close upstairs "That must be my son."
"Okay sure," I said before turning off the music playing on my phone. I don't know why I said sure but I did. Am I weird? Yeah probably, Oh well normal's boring. Footsteps were heard behind me until I heard someone say, "Here I am dad." In a bored tone.
I slowly turn around hoping he would be someone I knew and was met with ocean blue orbs.
Drake's blue eyes.
Holy shit.
He looked shocked once our eyes met and I'm sure I looked like a deer cought in headlights. I think we looked at each other for too long because somebody cleared there throat, I looked over to Mathew breaking our eye contact to say "Drake," I said pointing at drake "Is your son?" I ask.
He nodded like I was the dumbness person he had met "Yeah. Why?" He asked slowly, glancing at Drake then back at me.
I looked over at Drake to see him no longer looking shocked but a smirk somehow made its way to his lips. Oh lord. He can't be his son. Drake is so... Drake, While Mathew here is so... I don't know but he is definitely something else. What terrifies me is that I have to get along with him, which means spending more time with him. And even worse!! If Mathew and my mom get married that means me and Drake have to be... Ugh. I shudder at the thought.
