Cold was the best way to describe the wind.

It was about 5:30 pm, the sun was getting close to the horizon, and the sky was quickly turning rainbow shades, mainly of orange and yellow.

However the rays were dull in her opinion. To a mortal, the sight would be breathtaking, but to her, it only brought grief.

The goddess didn't properly have a name, as others and humans simply know her as the mother of a fruitful child.

Her entire body was a bright red, like a rose, with hair like that of tree branches. Her dress was black and clad with rose patterns, and her eyes are as gold as the sun used to be.

She stood there, on a cliff, pondering. The cliff looked perfectly to the west, where the sun is making its journey down the horizon. Down below, it was a beautiful and tranquil forest.

Normally, gorgeous symphonies created by her daughter would play, though today, it was quiet. While the silence didn't take away from the landscape's beauty, it all still felt incomplete and wrong. Like a violin without it's bow, or a piano without it's pianist.

As the fiery goddess stared at the sun, her eyes having no need to blink nor look away from the light, she held a rose so golden in color, it almost seemed fake. She clutched the thornless rose near her chest as she looked onward.

"Oh Muru," she mutters, her voice seemed to echo at nothing, yet it was soft and sweet, "I never thought that it shall end like this. I have let my pride blind me in the truth that we are still subject to death. I had so much hope.. so much.. and all for naught... I am sorry."

Her head was hung low. She slowly let go of the rose as tears prick at her eyes.

But before they stream down her face, she hears a small rustle in the bushes and trees behind her. She whips her head around to see the source of the noise, and after a moment, a small child emerges from the growth.

"Mama?"

Her skin was a soft shade of yellow, and on her nose and forehead, was a orange marking of a leaf. She wore a simple white dress and barely any shoes. On her head, short golden hair gleamed in the sunlight.

Just like her father.

"Oh, Yinu." The goddess sighed in relief, it was just her daughter.

The golden girl's nose was reddish and her eyes a little puffy. A few tear marks still glistened in the light, though most wiped off.

The red goddess took notice quickly. She turns towards her daughter, kneels down, and holds out her arms.

"Come." Is all she says in the softest voice a mother can muster.

Yinu nods and makes her way towards her mom's arms, as they wrap around her and lifts her up as her mom stands and returns to facing at the rapidly setting sun. The girl's chin was on the other's shoulder with arms wrapped around her neck.

Managing not to cry, she finally musters her words. "Papa.. is not gonna wake up now, right?"

It was almost a wisper, but the other can hear it. "Yes, my child, I am afraid that the light will no longer be as it was before."

Her voice was prickled with pure sadness and grief, but she stayed strong for the child in her arms. Yinu only gripped on her mother harder as the normally fierce goddess feels hears a sniff from her daugther.

"I thought we couldn't..."

"I was wrong, my child, I am sorry." She was rubbing circle's on the child's back to sooth her, feeling hiccups as she tries to breathe properly through the tears. "Just continue playing your melody, he shall live on through you."

Yinu only nods as she continues sniffling, gripping her mother thighter.

Both feel a tear roll down their cheeks as the sun finally dips below the horizon, the light leaving their faces and the land before them as the sky grows dark and the stars and moon appear to replace the sun.

The light shall never be as it was before again.

...

Did.. did ya cry or something?

I honestly doubt that considering my utter lack to emotional manipulation skills for writing, especially when compared to horrific masterpiece fics I find on Ao3

Yeah this was just a short and quick fic I wrote in about 2 hours lightly touching on my current headcanons for Deity Yinu and her parents

I actually imagine them still looking very similar to their original looks in the game

If you're wondering what they look like-

Btw the reason why I never mention the name of Yinu's mom, its because we never learn about her or her husband's name

Btw the reason why I never mention the name of Yinu's mom, its because we never learn about her or her husband's name

However according to the wiki, there are 2 statues in Yinu's district, Natura, that seem to honor 2 figures named Lilan and Muru. They go on to state that it is possible that these 2 could either be her parents or just simply just another person

I decided to go with the first option

"So why didn't you use Lilan's name in this oneshot?"

Good question
I did, actually, for the first few lines, however it felt wrong so I just left her nameless

So yeah, that is all

Thank you and goodnight
