Meeting Chase

I normally would sleep in later than eight am but unfortunately Stacy's phone went off playing some weird music. I was getting ready to sleep through it but then Julie started singing to it and well I sorta just decided against it. Besides today I was going to go talk to my partner, which for now I was calling him hot boy.

I got up and took a quick shower, not quick out of choice but because the showers water turns off after 7 minutes. I tried restarting it but it only does that after 20 minutes, so I gave up and brushed my hair out. i started to put on some make up but then Cynthia started banging on the door

"Hurry up I need to get in there!"

I quit and simply decided to put a little foundation then walked out

"Could you take any longer? jeez!" Cynthia muttered as I passed her, and I rolled my eyes.

Each of us got our own drawer to put our clothes in so I unpacked as I waited for my hair to dry. Setting down my undergarments and a pair of white shorts and a black crop top on my bed. Once I finished unpacking and getting dressed my hair was almost dry so I brushed it and headed out to look for my partner, I figured it would take a long time because it was huge camp, however it seemed he was looking for me.

"Hey there partner" I heard a familiar voice say behind me, I turned around and saw him

"Oh! Hi, um so I'm Athena" I said nervously tucking my hair behind my ear

"That's a very pretty name" he said grinning "my name is Chase Dwane"

"Oh okay cool, ugh that's also pretty, I mean like I don't know I'm trying to be nice but ya I don't think I'm doing very good and I'm going to stop talking" I said mentally slapping myself in the face, however, he seemed to think I was funny because he chuckled

"You're very strange, funny yes, but strange" then he sighed and looked past me towards nothing

"What cabin number are you in?Because now we're partners and like I may need to get ahold of you or something" I said and sighed, I had done it again, I had over spoken

"Number 23, and you are 17 right?"

"Yes, both cabin and age are seventeen" I said slightly smiling

"Ah I wish I could say the same, but no my cabin number is not my age, which by the way, is 18" he smiled "have you seen the beach yet?" He asked randomly

"Um no I mean to, I just haven't yet" I said looking off at the beach, it was fairly hot out, a quick dip in the lake would be awesome

"Oh perfect, lets go check it out!" He said smiling and starting to walk away

"Wait! Chase I don't have my swim suit on" I said wishing I had put it on under my clothes

"Oh, okay well then how about a tour of the place?" He asked without a flicker of hesitation

"Okay, yeah sure, it would be good to know where stuff was, it could come in handy for the competition" I said "which by the way, do you know anything about?" I questioned him

"Yeah, everyday the teams meet up in the food hall and then are told what the daily thing to do is, so one day it could be a scavenger hunt, the next day a camp quiz, the next a swimming contest, the possibilities are endless" he sighed "I remember last year, me and my buddy James made it to the top six teams, unfortunately though we couldn't sing the theme song to Hannah Montana properly and we lost, however it was pretty fun trying," he smiled at the faint memory and closed his eyes, I took advantage of it to stare at his face, really stare, his cheek bones were perfectly even and he had dimples, the cutest ones! His hair fell just the right way, he was gorgeous!

"So, how about that your?" I asked once he opened his eyes

"Sounds good" he said while looping his arm through mine, it made me laugh. This guy was so random.

Chase showed me many really cool things about the camp, it was huge and I was really excited about the zip lining course.

"Do you think we can do it?" I asked staring at the course with amazement

"I don't think so, usually they save it for the competition," he said, "and they don't want anyone practising on it and then having leverage" he finished the sentence and I nodded as my stomach growled

"Oh good... I thought you'd never ask" then he walked me over to the food hall where many tables of campers sat eating.

"Whoa" I said while Chase dragged me over to the buffet

"I know, I know, it's a food lovers heaven" he said as I placed many pancakes on my plate then poured syrup and whipped cream and strawberries over them

"Easy there" he joked while placing eggs and sausages onto his plate. I grabbed a glass and filled it apple juice as did Chase.

"So where are we sitting?" I questioned looking around

"Follow me" then he walked to a small table where a couple 14 year old boys where sitting. Chase coughed loudly and they all ran away

"I'm kind of the king around here, all the boys look up to me, and the girls dream about me" he said sitting down and biting his sausage

"Right... So does that mean I'm going to get a lot of hate?" I asked while cutting up my pancakes

"Probably," he said

"But how come? You're the one who chose me! All I did was stand there and look like a fool" I said sighing

"Yes, but a cute fool, that's why I chose you" then he smirked and started on his eggs as I looked down blushing.
