Thick pools of blood covered the ground. Gregory looked into his old friend's gray, lifeless eyes, and was frozen in shock. No. This isn't happening. I'm dreaming. I have to be dreaming. Wake up. WAKE UP. He cursed under his breath as tears began streaming down his cheeks. You're weak, Bellerose. Stupid piece of shit. You couldn't save her. He hit himself in the head and whispered to himself. "Shut up. SHUT UP." Trembling, he stood up and wiped his face. 'I'm strong, I'll be fine,' he thought to himself. Gregory then hurried over to where Pip was currently residing.
Pip turned around and waved, smiling. Gregory took a deep breath, and began to explain the situation. "Hey, Pip. So...Well..I was with Estella earlier, and...." He swallowed back tears and looked down. "S-She...Um..." The shakiness in his voice became obvious now, and Pip stood up next to him. "Is something wrong, old chap?" Pip asked gently. Gregory looked away as he felt more tears threatening to fall. "Fuck," he whispered, quickly turning away from the other male. Pip carefully grabbed Gregory's shoulders and made him turn back around. "Hey, hey..What's up? You know you can tell me, right?" Gregory sighed deeply. Not caring to stop himself anymore, he grabbed Pip and fell into his shoulders, silently crying. Pip hugged him gently. "It's okay, I'm here." Gregory stopped for a moment, remembering the look in Estella's eyes the moment before she took her final breaths. And she was smiling at him. 'You'll all be happier this way. I promise.' He held Pip tightly as tears quickly puddled on the ground. "It was my fault. I could have stopped her. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry."
