Elizas POV

As I wake up, I hear Logan murmuring to himself in his sleep. Something about a wolf. Probably his spirit animal, as he would tell me when we were younger. I lay there with blood filling my nostrils. I jolt up and Logan quickly bounces up as well. There was blood everywhere.

Flashback

"Sissy, why do you always tuck me in and not Mommy?" My younger siblings ask. I shrug my shoulders and whisper, "Mommy was just tired and its my job to take care of my own. Does that make sense little ones?" They nod and yawn as I read a bedtime story. As they drift to sleep, I hear my parents arguing about the bills. I roll my eyes but knew something was off. I shut my siblings in their room and run down the hall as I witness my father, the notorious gang leader, threaten my mother for the last time. As he held a match in his hand along with some gasoline, I rush into action. I threw the gasoline at the wall and punched him in the face. "You'll regret that, you skank!" He yells as he runs towards me and my mother. I fought with all my strength but my mother took many more blows than I did. He dragged me into the front yard, threw me down and whispered, "Now, watch! Watch as your little world crumbles you foolish girl!" I look up and spit blood out of my mouth as I see my mother get shot in the head and thrown like a rag doll. My eyes flutter from open to shut, making me relive the moment that just unveiled itself in front of my eyes, as the house I grew up in burns to ashes and tears fill my eyes. My siblings-gone. My mother-gone. My father is nowhere to be seen. I pass out from the fumes and slowly wake up a week later, in pain and in a hospital six towns away from my childhood home....

Logan looks at me with a concerned friend on his face and quickly gets up to check on the others. My wound opened yet again and thats why there was so much blood. "I see your wound is doing somewhat better." Jacob states as he hands me materials to fix nyself yet again. "Nothing like looking and feeling like a winner," I say sarcastically as I tend to my wound. Jacob and Luke laugh whilst Logan just stares into my soul. His eyes and smile could calm any part of me down. I smile as I finish up and change clothes. We all gather in the living room and discuss the past couple of days. "That school we were at? They seem pretty genuine though," states Jacob. I shake my head and laugh, "Yeah, because those girls were the only things keeping you there." I roll my eyes and try to soak up all the information that Logan had gathered. Logan looks at Luke and says, "A-13b5 is one of the codes in their database as well as the FBIs so that may be our one link to know what truly is going on." Luke nods and I reply,"You've gotta be kidding me! That school was the one thing I thought I didnt have to go back to! Youre telling me I need to go back?!" Logan and Luke shake their heads at the same time but then Luke says,"No. It has to be a male. How long have you been going to that school Jacob?" Jacob looks up at all of us and shakes his head. He knows something. "Well Jacob?" I reiiterate. Jacob whispers, "I've been going to that school for most of my high school years. But I have heard that code before, she goes there as well." Logan and Luke stare at each other but Logan questions, "She? Who is she?" Tears well up in Jacobs eyes as he looks up and replies, "Allison. Allison Brown." Jacob walks away with a hint of pain in his eyes. Logan recognized the name immediately and I could tell. "You know what to do Logan," I say and not, "search her name. I want all of her information." He shakes his head and shrugs. He looks at Luke and nods to him. "What is going on? What is it that I dont know?" I ask as Jacob steps back in the room. Logan looks at me with a pain in his eyes I've never seen. He then gets up, grabs a cigarette and steps outside. "Look Eliza, he will tell you when he is ready," Luke says, "The school you went to obviously isnt for humans, that's for sure." I look at the boys and stomp off in disbelief. My stomach growls as I enter the kitchen and smell McDonalds and Jacks. Jacob follows me. "Are you okay Eliza?" I turn to him. I look him dead im his eyes, right to his soul and say, "I'll be fine Jacob. I'll always be a fighter and not a lover. I don't have time for secrets and games. Is that the answer you wanted to hear?" I ask him mockingly, grabbing a sausage biscuit and some apple juice. He shakes his head and just sighs. I didn't have time to answer stupid questions. I'm on a mission. I can't forget what I came here to do. Logan them interrupts my thoughts by whispering in my ear, "Come. Take a walk with me. I'll explain everything." I nod, not wanting to seem impatient or upset, and follow him out the door and down the gravel road. Silence ingulfed me. Hatred floating in my brain along with jealousy. The walk was long and the words said were short, sweet and to the point. The pain burying my soul, the fire burning my blood, the sun shining on what to me seemed like one of the darkest days of my life. Logan then stops and sits at a nearby creek and I follow behind. Not wanting to ask any questions or pester Logan, I wait for him to tell me what was happening and what was to come.
