Logans POV

I awake to the sound of gunshots and the smell of fresh blood. I look around the house Luke told me to be at. I look for new signs, but theres no break in. For all I know this could be another trap, but I feel the need to take this chance. I came because Luke contacted me about gangs being destroyed one by one, so I told him to send me to a safe house near them. My brother, Luke, almost sounded desperate. But that's a story for another day, I slowly open the door. They'll be arriving soon. Eliza is my best friend, my lover, my lifeline. She means the world to me and when she left Chicago my heart tore into a million little pieces. She'll never know I'm apart of a gang. I'll never let her know of the pain I've gone through to get rid of my horrid past. As I research the lone survivor of the Smith gang, it brings painful tears to my eyes and memories of a past I long to forget. Jacob Smith: age 17, relentless, cold-blooded, heartless to the core. I search and search looking through every missing persons report seen by the eyes of cold, hurt human beings. His parents, Ali and Austin Smith, tortured alive. Theres something fishy about the report: blood that wasnt registered in any court system known to man, but that won't stop a hacker like me. As I go into the FBI's database of the few gangs they could possibly know of, I come across a horrible discovery. The Bartlett gang is the largest yet most mixed gang I've ever read about in the database yet the names are in some kind of code(like a code the FBI would use for a secret force). As I read deeper and deeper into the report, I realize what the code means. Its a possible code blue or code red and if you aren't a hacker, you'll soon realize what I mean. Actually, just let me explain so there will be no confusion. A code blue for the FBI would be like a suicide task force. Whilst a code red stands for chips in the neck or brain area. Neither are fun to deal with. I read back through the file to try and debunk as much as possible, but all I end up with are codes and plenty of them. I see a white 2017 Audi pull up and I know that my brother is with Eliza. I step outside and my eyes meet with two young men and her. She looks as stunning as ever. I run over to them. I hug her and she rushes inside to tend to her wound along with Jacob.
"Hello brother," Luke turns to me and gestures to walk, "we have lots to discuss." As we walk, we discuss our past and our family. "We never seem to catch a break, do we brother?" I ask and he turns to me with concerned eyes. "It seems not. But I see youve been busy in Chicago Brother, please tell me what it was like to be free from this life." I glance at the creek that we walk upon and whisper to him, "Brother, I have never been free from this life nor will we ever be if I cant figure out why they are only leaving one survivor per gang or so they think." Silence crawls upon us as we sit and watch the water run. I look at Luke and just bathe myself in the silence and warmth only a family member could bring. As tears reach my eyes, he gestures to walk back. We walk in pure silence waiting for what was to come next. We enter the safe house and bolt all the doors acoording to where I know we will be safe.

Flashback
I run to my brother, blood on my cheek and tears streaming down my face. "Allison! ALLISON!" I scream into the darkness that mocks my existence. Luke looks at me and shakes his head. "You're telling me," I whisper, " that she will not return, yes?" He nods and whimpers as he realizes the danger she is now in. I shake my head, pick him up off the ground and hug my brother. Luke whispers, "I did all I could brother, but she refused to listen. She transitioned and ran off into the night before I could go after her." I look upon my brother with love snd regret as he tells me how our lover, our mate ran. Ran to another pack. Another gang. If only Allison knew the danger she has put my whole family in now.

Luke, Jacob and Eliza all stared at me as tears fell down my cheeks. I signal at them to leave me in peace whilst I basked in the grief and sorrows from my past life. Nightfall was hitting and soon. Luke waited for me outside as I waited for Eliza to fall asleep. "It was only a bad dream Eliza, go back to sleep," I say as she jolts from her slumber. She falls back asleep and I go to Luke. "Are you ready brother?" He asks as he turns from the young man he is into the old wolf he was. I nod and transition myself as we run again for old times sake. The breeze hitting against my fur, the howls in the distance, the dark sky and full moon tied this whole day together as I feel alive again. Sleep falls upon us both as we see the sun rising in the distance and we quickly run to the house and transition back. "Thank God," I whisper, "shes still asleep." I walk away from my brother and get beside Eliza, allowing myself to fall into a deep slumber short lived. Tomorrow starts a war, one I've been prepared for my whole life...
