BALEN IS a child of darkness/krill.
I've thought about originally making him into a child of light then going dark but, then I liked the idea of all children of light starting at isle then starting there journey
and I continued with that idea that only children who rebirth go through that process, so if you started off in prarie or something once you die your gone
balen was born without light, meaning he has no wings either
so he'd watch all the other kids fly away and past isle
he tried to get help when a talkative or friendly kid came by, but he was never able to get that help because the few kids who ended up trying to pick or carry him lost their lights completely
after awhile balen stopped trying and just sat around isle and watched people
