Chapter 9. Cake!

Kyle puts his arm around me and we start walking to Physics together. For some reason the school joined those two subjects together. Kyle and I sit next to each other as I sat down I kept thinking about Mr. Evans.

I look at the door and see Mr. Evans walk in. I felt my face heat up and I couldn't stop smiling.

A few of the girls squealed and I roll my eyes.

Mr. Evans smiles at me and once again I blushed, "Alright class, I will be your sub for today Mrs. Burns is out for the day. Let's get to it." He smacks his hands together. I place my hand on my chin and smile and just stared at him. He grabs a piece of chalk and start to writing and talk about what we are learning.

10 minutes later.

"Ms. Harper."

"So cute. Huh?"

He smirks, "Ms. Harper, are you listening?"

"Yes."

"Then what did I just say?"

All eyes were on me, and I hate all eyes on me.

"Umm...uh."

******

The bell rings signaling for the day to be over.

I grab my books and head for the door.

"Ms. Harper."

I turned around to see Mr. Evans taking a bite out of his apple.

I bite my lip, "Yes?" I say, walking slowly up to him.

"Did you start your work?" He asks.

"Yes."

"May I see it?"

I grab my work out of my book and look at it. On half of my questions I wrote: Mr. Evans. Unaware that I did that.

"Uh..I didn't start."

"What were you thinking about during the lesson?"

"Uh...cake"

Cake!! Really Jordyn.

He raises an eyebrow, "You sure that's all you were thinking about?"

"Yeah that's all."

"You know you can talk to me about anything. Right Jordyn?"

I bite my lip, "Yeah I know, there's nothing else to say... I was thinking about a piece of you.... I mean cake...I said cake."

"Uh huh." He take a bite out of his apple and sets it on the desk.

I smile, "It's true."

He smirks, "You've been a bad liar since the day I met you."

My face flushed, "I'm not lying."

He steps closer to me, "Yeah, okay."

"I'm not!"

"I believe you."

"Why don't you believe me?"I ask.

"I can tell when you're lying." He tells me.

I hold my hands up in defense. "Fine you caught me."

In that short amount of time I didn't notice until now, we were only a couple of inches away from each other.

"So your mom told me she won't be home tonight and she wants you to stay with me for the night, plus it's storming." He points at the window.
