The banging roused me from my thoughts. It was coming from the chamber behind my bedroom. As it dawned on me that I had forgotten my last night's adventures in the dungeon, I removed Mawsitsit gently and ran. Upon opening the door, I took in the poor, pitiful sight of Paul. I had chained him and handcuffed him to the wall. He was gagged, which explained why he wasn't yelling! Putting on my best "sorry" face I walked quickly to his side, removing the keys from my suspenders and freed him.
Angrily he removed the gag and turned to me, "That was not funny! You left me there all night! My arms ache, my jaws ache, I need to piss. Don't you ever do that to me again!"
I pouted and snuggled into him, kissing his shoulder and chest.
"I'm sorry darling. Forgive me?"
Batting my eyelashes seductively, I ran my hand over his groin.
Paul removed my hand roughly, quite obviously annoyed.
"I need to piss. Badly. Stop that!"
As he left the room, I smiled when I saw the whip marks still on his ass and the welts that had formed from running my nails down his back. I had branded him. He was mine.
Sauntering out of the room, I went to look for Mawsitsit. I should focus. He was hungry and Paul hadn't met him yet.
"What the? What the hell is that?" Paul screamed.
I guess he just met Mawsitsit. I sighed and went to rescue my pet.
After Paul left, I had time on my hands. I used to enjoy the solitude but now craved human contact and interaction. It was nice sitting entwined with someone on the chaise lounge, eating breakfast. Pouting, I ran my hand casually over the velvet wall, lost in thought. I needed to come up with enough money to pay this month's bills. If only I had run away to the forest with my first love. He wanted us to be like fairies or wood nymphs and live amongst the trees. Oh how I still miss him. I wonder where he is and if he had found someone else. The pang of lost love still burned in my chest and my eyes began to water. I should have gone when he had asked. Now it was too late.
Jasper was walking around the sun room, his little paws leaving muddy foot prints all over the stone floors. He must have been rummaging around the garden looking for bugs to supplement his meal again. For a prickly little fellow he sure was cuddly. He made his way over to me and crawled onto my foot. I bent over and picked him up gently. The spines dug gently into my palms but it wasn't unpleasant. Jasper stuck his little nose out toward me. We touched noses and I set him down again. Curious little guy. He had said his good morning and now was off to sleep.
Spying Mawsitsit slithering into the room I walked over and picked him up. He was a jealous boy. Hungry too. Closing the door to the sun room, I set him down and went to the basement to get his meal. My babies were spoilt and that's why they loved me so much. I had a cage of live rats, bred specifically for Mawsie. I brought a cage up and released a single rat into the hallway. It dashed and ran off behind a cupboard. Mawsitsit would find him. He always did. I know that it is frowned upon to feed live rats but I don't actually drop him into a small tank. The rat has a chance, slim as it may be, to run away. Mawsitsit gets the meal as he would in the wild. I didn't see the moral dilemma there. I took the cage to the basement. It would bring back the next playmate for Mawsie.
Stacked in the corner of my library were the books I had last published. Unsold. That was the last time I paid for publication costs myself! How to recoup the loss and make enough to survive the following month? Think! What could I do? I had applied for many jobs, only to be turned away by insecure secretaries and female managers or by inexperienced staff that were afraid I would take their job. It was awful. Overqualified for some and under-qualified for others. If only I could sell some books.
Deciding that I needed fresh air I walked back to the sun-room, ensuring the door remained closed behind me. I didn't want Mawsitsit to give up his chase on the rat and decide that Jasper would do! My sun-room was the complete opposite of the rest of the house. It stretched around three outer walls of my house. Encased in a thick wooden frame and glass, it let in the sun allowing the plants along its parameters to flourish. Carefully placed windows let in breezes as well as an assortment of wildlife. Some that had even decided to nest in the fruit trees!
It was like a lush tropical paradise. Grass with connecting stone floors to the house. Jasper loved his indoor/outdoor home. It also provided the much needed escape that I craved from all the darkness of the house. Laying on the cool grass I gazed up and out the glass roof. The clouds lazily drifted by and the sun warmed my body. I stripped off naked and spread out to enjoy the delicious rays completely. Closing my eyes, I decided to rest.
A couple of hours later I was woken by a sultry kiss. I didn't open my eyes. Whoever it was had keys so kissing them was acceptable. The lips made their way down my neck and casually kissed a breast before returning to tease my mouth once more. Pulling away, a husky female voice murmured, "You look like a meal served by the Gods."
I smiled and opened my eyes. It was Arianrhod. She was my special friend. Her long chocolate hair had been pinned back and she was dressed in her business attire. A black pencil skirt and white business shirt, the buttons straining as though they'd pop off. I called her Air. Air was admired by men and women alike. Blessed with a beautiful face and body as well as good fortune, she had been born into a flourishing family business. As sole heir, Air was expected to take over when Daddy retired. Only Air didn't enjoy the work, so came over regularly for extended lunch breaks.
"I should dress," I sighed.
"Don't on my account. I love your freedom and your body," she chuckled.
"So what brings you to my humble abode?"
I stretched on the lawn and flipped over onto my stomach. My back needed some sunlight too.
Air had peeled off her clothes as well, stretching herself out on the grass beside me.
"Business meetings. I can't handle them. Wish you had finished chemistry. I need new employees. Can't employ you as you are too much of a distraction, not only to me but to the rest of the workers."
We both laughed. We lay silently on the lawn, drinking in the sun. There was no awkwardness.
After an hour had passed, Air dressed again and dropped a kiss on the back of my neck.
"I may see you tonight, unless you have made other arrangements?"
I breathed in deeply and replied, "Nope. No plans. All yours."
Arianrhod laughed and left as silently as she had entered.
