Hitting the reset button: part 1

I did not think that after being at the top and getting everything, I ever wanted I would end up falling so low and losing everything that I had worked so hard for. I lost my marriage, my friends, and what I thought was the life I wanted. The thing that hurt the most was not my husband, we had been lost for some time now, but my health which also made me lose my title and put me right back at the bottom having to climb that same mountain over again. Only this time I decided that I wasn't going to be the same person that had followed the rules and bent over backwards to please everybody. This time I was going to get to the top and enjoy my time getting there without worrying about a jealous husband who didn't want to share the spotlight or my so called friend who abandoned me when I needed them the most. No, this time I was going to do things my way.

After being in physical therapy for almost a year and training my body to get back into ring shape I was finally cleared and just in time for the biggest event of the year. WrestleMania 34. And I could not believe that they were giving me the opportunity to participate. Yeah, it is not a singles match, but I get to be in the women's battle royal. This will be my first battle royal ever and I was excited and nervous at the same time. Nobody knew that I was making my come back tonight so I had to sneak into the back area and hide myself in an abandoned room that Hunter had snuck me into. "How are you feeling?"

"Nervous, but ready"

"You are going to do great and it is nice to have you back" Hunter looked at me like he wanted to ask something else

"I really am ok and I really appreciate this opportunity. I promise if I need anything or have any problem I will let you or Stephanie know"

I know he was worried after the year and a half I just had I would be worried about myself also, but everything that had happened to me only made me stronger and made my ambitions bigger.

"ok kid good luck out there someone will come and get you when it is time. Stay hidden"

I nodded and took a deep breath

"oh and I need to know what brand you would like to be on ''

I looked at him confused. I had never had the opportunity to pick where I was going to work. He saw the confusion on my face and nodded

" you were the women's champion when you got injured and you still get a rematch for the title, but we also have some plans for you and you know I could use you down at NXT''

I didn't get the opportunity to go to NXT when I first started. Since I was already a well-known wrestler I went straight into the main roaster. Maybe NXT was the right place to go.

"I don't need an answer right now. Just think it over and let me know''

I gave Hunter one last nod before he walked out of the room. I sat there thinking about what Hunter had just told me. I did not know what to do. I had been on Smackdown and Raw. I was even Raw women's champion for 1year. I have held the Dives championship for a couple months, but now sitting here and being asked where I wanted to go, I blanked. I decided to do some meditation and warm up since the battle royal was during the pre show. Sometime later I heard a knock on the door and I knew that it was time. I looked myself over in the mirror one last time and threw on my hoody to cover my face. This was it. The moment I had been waiting for. I was the last person to make my entrance as I stood in the gorilla. I could feel my adrenaline kicking in and the roar of the crowd. My music kicked on and I stepped out and the crowd went wild. Fans were cheering and yelling. I could even hear my name being chanted. I waved and to every side and then looked ahead at the ring. There it was the place I missed the most during my time away and all my opponents were standing there some were happy and smiling towards me. Some of them were new girls that I have not met before then there were the ones that used to be my friends. They stood there scowling at me and ready to attack the moment they got the chance. I ran to the ring slide in and was ready to show everyone why I deserved to be here.

As I am standing in the ring some of the girls smile and nod at me. I take it as a sign that they are happy to see me. I take a deep breath. The bell rings. Carmella starts bragging about being Miss money in the bank. Everyone starts attacking and she is eliminated. We are all standing in a circle not knowing what to do next. Nattie pushes Dana into the middle and the same thing happens to her; she is eliminated. Then all the NXT girls stand around Kairi Sane. I do not know where to stand since I am an outcast right now, but I don't get time to think about it because everyone starts fighting and I just start attacking whoever comes at me. The match was a blur. It is like the moment everyone started fighting my instincts took over and I just fought to not be eliminated. The NXT girls are fighting like hell to show all the girls on the main roaster why they are better than them. I end up getting tossed through the second rope and hit the ground. I lay there for a while to catch my breath. I get up and notice that all the NXT girls are eliminated. I roll back into the ring just as Bailey and Sasha eliminate the Riot squad. And witness Bailey betray Sasha. And she is celebrating thinking that she just won. Naomi and I stand behind her and watch her turn around in horror as she sees that this isn't over. Naomi and I high five and we both go after Bailey. We quickly throw her over the top rope. We turn to each other, shake hands, and now it is every woman for themselves. Naomi comes at me and puts me in a headlock, but I counter and I push her into the ropes. I take the moment to run to the side ropes and knock her down. I start building momentum and use the ropes to do my somersault kick and knock Naomi to the floor. I pick her up and walk over to the rope when she gets out of my hold and elbows me in the face. She takes the opportunity to do her split-legged jawbreaker and I fly back into the ropes. She comes at me but I move and pull the ropes down with me which causes her to go over them. And land on the other side. I act quickly and run to the ropes on the other side and see that Naomi is about to do a diving crossbody. I adjust my body and deliver a high drop kick to her stomach and send her flying to the mat. She is eliminated and I stand in the ring in shock. I had just won the first ever women's battle royal on my first night back since my injury. I quickly roll out of the ring and help Naomi up. She gives me a hug and tells me congratulations and I start to celebrate next to the trophy I had just won. I run around the outside of the ring high fiving all the fans and then make my way up the ramp and through the curtain.

I barely make it to the back when a body flies towards me and embraces me in a big hug by my longtime friend Finn Balor. He pulls away and I can tell that he is upset with me

"why didn't you tell me you were going to be here" I look at him and smile

"It was a surprise, Hunter told me not to tell anyone" Finn looks at you and hugs you again.

"ok I forgive you this time, but you have to buy me breakfast tomorrow" you smile at him and nod. Finn leaves to get ready for his match. I start walking to the locker room. I walk to the door and before I go in, I notice that I am nervous. What if the girls do not want me in there? Maybe I should go back to my hiding spot. I decide that I need to do this. I slowly open the door and notice that Bayley, Sasha, Becky, and Naomi are all standing there waiting to greet me.

"Hey "they all come at me and we end up in a big group hug. Which if I am being honest was not what I was expecting. Bayley notices my facial features and pulls away

"what did you think we were going to be mad at you" the other girl pulled back to look at you. "We are not them and we don't agree with what they all did to you. We are here for you no matter what" Hearing Bayley say that and seeing the other girls agree made you feel a thousand time better about making the choice to come back.

"Sorry you guys know how this last year and a half was, so I am just not sure who my friends are and who is out to get me". They all give me a sincere look and hug me again. The rest of the night is spent meeting all the new girls on the roster and introducing myself to the NXT girls. Everyone was very nice, and they all congratulated me on my win. I caught up with some of the guys and by the end of the night I felt like I hadn't missed a beat, that is until I saw them
