Jacob had a restless night, he was either freezing cold and shivering or boiling hot. He spent most of the night sitting on the balcony, so I was beyond happy when he finally snuggled into my side and fell asleep.

I was currently sitting in bed, his torso across my lap and I was scrolling through my phone, updating my mum that we were both alive. She worries about us, but I know she just loves us and doesn't want anything bad to happen, and I want her to be happy, so if i have to text her my every move to keep her calm and lessen her anxiety, then I will happily do so.

Jacob stirred and sat up, his sleepy eyes still looking glassy. "Hey, how're you feeling?" I asked as I rubbed his arm.

"Hmm, yeah a bit better, i'm just tired. Sorry if I kept you awake all night, I tried to be quiet." he mumbled wrapping his arms around me.

I smiled and brushed it off "no you didn’t. I just hate that you didn’t get much sleep. It's just past 11am, so how about you stay snug and I'll go get some food for us. We can have a cute little brunch on the balcony. I know a certain bakery is open..."

"Oooh one giant croissant please. Thank you" he said as he sat up and gave me a peck on the cheek. I smiled at him and got up and dressed, deciding to shower when I returned from the bakery. As I was leaving, I peaked back into the bedroom and heard light snores, so I tiptoed out as quietly as I could.

It was still morning, but the sun was shining and looking at the thermometer at the bottom of the stairs I noticed it was already 28 degrees celsius. It's going to be a warm day today! I noticed Lindsey sweeping the pavilion and asked if she wanted anything from the bakery or if she wanted to come, but she politely declined saying she was going to do a big shop later this afternoon.

The roads were quieter than last night, it seems that more shops are open in the evenings than during the day, I suppose they are trying to attract the local tourists that go along the strip of restaurants and bars. I made my way through the cobbled greek streets and into the cream and black, mostly glass bakery.

I walked around the edge of the store glancing at all the delicious cakes and pastries. Hmm, I need to speak to Lindsey about a cake for Jacob's birthday. "Kalimera" the lady at the counter said. I replied back with the same cheery tone and asked for a large croissant, a granola slice, two frappes and two large sugared donuts. Jacob would probably need sugar to keep him going today, and I really wanted a donut, so I used that as my excuse.

I walked out of the bakery and was surprised to see Alec and Adrian walking towards me "I thought I smelled you" Adrian said, as Alec elbowed him in the side. Damn it, I should have showered.

"I don’t smell that bad, I was too hungry to shower before I had vital sustenance." I explained holding up the donuts. They both laughed looking at my healthy breakfast choices and said they were just heading to Jeremy's, so they would walk with me.

"Any spares? Adrian asked, eyeing the bag of pastries.

"Nope, but Alec you can share a donut with me if you like" Adrian pouted and said that Alec was too fat, so he would happily take his half. I laughed and gave Adrian one donut along with my coffee that I only bought because I was tired, but I didn't really want it.

He happily took them both, and Alec linked my now free arm through his as he remarked how difficult it was to bring up children these days. I laughed alongside him as we continued to take the mick out of Adrian.

We heard shouting as we approached the gates, and all looked at eachother with concern as we cautiously made our way to the pavilion. "Well, where did she go? Why did you let her leave? Anything could have happened!"
