3. Boat Trip

Matt drove us into the marina, and up to a shiny white and blue boat with the words 'Summer Paradise' scrawled across the side. "Let's start unloading. Jacob you can help me set up like last time" Matt chuckled as Jacob threw him a glare. I raised an eyebrow at their exchange and Jacob explained that last time he helped, Matt told him to hold a rope knowing full well he would be pulled into the marina and get soaked. I laughed as Matt started explaining how soaked and grumpy Jacob was after.

We all finished unloading the dark green truck, as a couple of guys approached us, floats and coolers in hand.

"Hey Jacob, long time no see!" a tall, broad guy with dark brown hair and stubble shouted as he neared us, finally gripping onto Jacob in one of those man hugs. "Alec, Adrian, how've you been?" He said as he fist bumped the man next to the tall guy.

"Yeah, not too bad. How about you? Ooh did you bring me a date, there's no way someone so pretty would be with either of you two!" The other slightly shorter guy said as he looked at me. I heard Matt complain about the insult as he walked over and punched the guy in the arm then fist bumped the taller one.

Jacob introduced me "Guys this is my girlfriend Ella, and definitely wayyyy out of your league Adrian. Ella, this  is Alec '' he gestured to the tall guy he had hugged before "and this flirt is Adrian '' he nodded to the shorter guy.

"Nice to meet you both" i said as Matt added "i wouldn't speak too soon. These two will get on your last nerve in no time". "Matthew, you make me feel so guilty. Let me make it up to you" Adrian said overdramatically as he approached Matt with a kissing face. Matt pushed him away, mumbling something about boundaries, as we all started to load our stuff onto the boat.

"Helena just texted me saying they're about five minutes away." Alec announced to our group. "Why'd she text you? I'm her brother!" Adrian moaned. Alec merely rolled his eyes as Matt reminded him how unreliable he was, laughing he probably didn't even have his phone. Adrian was about to argue back, but feeling his pockets he realised he had in fact left his phone in his car. We all laughed at him as he shrugged and pushed Matt out of the way, saying he should let a real man test the engine.

They were a funny group, and they bullied eachother but you could tell they were all good friends. I smiled at Jacob as he helped me down into the boat, me trying extra hard not to slip.

"Hello everyone" an excited voice said from behind us. We all turned to see a tall slim lady, in perhaps her late twenties, and a tall, broad man, with light brown hair. "Finally, you guys took forever! Hurry up or we are leaving without you!" Matt exclaimed as the rest of the group said hello to the pair.

"Actually, i cannot stay, but i trust you can behave this time Matthew" The big guy said with all seriousness, as the lady hit his chest lightly claiming she'd be fine and kissed his cheek before excitedly climbing down onto the boat.

"Seriously, it was not all my fault. You guys were too fat for the weight limit!" Matt explained as we all laughed. The guy waved as we pulled away in the boat, then quickly made his way back towards the car park.

"Hi, I'm Helena. That goofballs, older and better sister" the lady said as she took a seat opposite Jacob and I at the front of the boat, and pointed to Adrian.

"Hi, I'm Ella", "And i'm Jacob, that idiot's brother" we introduced ourselves as Jacob pointed to Matt, who childishly stuck his tongue out at the insult.
